1. Remove four bolts (1) from the tube assembly.2. Pull the oil level gauge (2) up as far as it will go. 3. Remove two bolts (3) and locks.4. Remove two bolts (5) and locks.5. Remove bolts (7) and locks that hold the suction bell in position. Remove suction bell (8).6. Remove the bolts and locks that hold tube (6) in position. Remove the tube.7. Put a floor jack in position under the oil pump as shown. Fasten the oil pump to the floor jack. 8. Remove bolts (4) and locks that hold the oil pump in position. Lower oil pump (9) away from the cylinder block. Weight of the oil pump is 80 lb. (36.3 kg).Install Oil Pump
1. Fasten the oil pump to a floor jack as shown. 2. Put oil pump (1) in position in the cylinder block. Install the four bolts and locks that hold it. 3. Put tube (4) in position and install the bolts and locks that hold it.4. Put tube (2) in position against the oil pump and install the bolts and locks that hold it.5. Put tube (3) in position against the oil pump and install the bolts and locks that hold it.6. Put suction bell (5) in position on the oil pump. Install the bolts and locks that hold it. 7. Put oil level gauge (6) in position on the cylinder block. Install the four bolts and washers that hold it.end by:a) install oil panDisassemble Oil Pump
start by:a) remove oil pump 1. Remove the cotter pin from the shaft. Loosen nut (1) until it is even with the end of the shaft. 2. Remove the four bolts and locks that hold cover (2) in position. Remove the cover and screen assembly (3).3. Remove the four bolts and locks that hold cover (5) in position. Remove the cover and screen assembly (4). 4. Loosen gear (6) from the shaft with tool (A). Remove tool (A), the nut, the washer and the gear from the shaft.5. Remove the key from the shaft. 6. Remove four bolts (7) that hold the oil pump together. Two of the bolts are body ground bolts. Put identification on these bolts to prevent mixing at assembly. 7. Remove cover (8) and gear (9) from the oil pump. Remove the gear from the shaft. 8. Remove bearing (10) from the cover.9. Remove bearing (11) from the gear. 10. Remove body assembly (13) from body assembly (12). 11. Remove gear (15) from body assembly (13).12. Remove bearing (14) from the body assembly.13. Remove two bearings (16) from the gear. 14. Remove gear (17) from the shaft. Remove the key from the shaft.15. Remove body assembly (18) from body assembly (12). 16. Remove bearing (19) from the body assembly.17. Remove bearing (20) from the gear. 18. Remove gear (22) from the shaft assembly. Remove key (21) from the shaft assembly. 19. Remove shaft assembly (23) from body assembly (24).20. Remove gear (25) from the body assembly. Remove the two bearings from gear (25). 21. Remove bearing (26) from the body assembly. 22. Remove two bolts (27) and locks.23. Remove retainer (28). 24. Remove spring (30) and valve (29) from the body assembly.Assemble Oil Pump
1. Put clean engine oil on valve (3) and spring (2). Install the valve and spring in the body assembly. 2. Install retainer (1). Install the two bolts and locks that hold it. 3. Install the bearing in the body assembly (4) with tool (A). 4. Install the two bearings in gear (5) with tool (A). Install the bearings until they are even with the outside surface of the gear.5. Put clean engine oil on the shaft assembly and gear. 6. Install shaft assembly (6) and gear (5) in body assembly (4). 7. Install key (7) in the shaft assembly.8. Install gear (8) on the shaft assembly. 9. Install the bearing in body assembly (9) with tool (A). Make sure the oil hole in the bearing is in alignment with the oil hole in the body assembly. 10. Install the two bearings in gear (10) with tool (A). Install the two bearings until they are even with the outside surface of the gear. 11. Put clean engine oil on gear (10) and install it in body assembly (9). Put the body assembly in position on body assembly (4). 12. Install the bearing in body assembly (11) with tool (A).13. Put body assembly (11) in position on body assembly (4). 14. Install the key in the shaft assembly. Put clean engine oil on gear (12). Install gear (12) on the shaft assembly. 15. Install the bearing in gear (13) with tool (A). Make sure the oil holes in the bearing are in alignment with the oil holes in the gear. 16. Install the bearing in cover (14) with tool (A). Install the bearing until it is even with the machined surface of the cover.17. Put gear (13) over the shaft on cover (14). 18. Install the cover on the oil pump.19. Install the four bolts, nuts and locks that hold the oil pump together. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 100 10 lb. ft. (135.6 13.6N m). 20. Install the key in the shaft assembly. Install gear (15) on the shaft assembly. Install the washer and nut that hold the gear in position. Tighten the nut to a torque of 100 lb. ft. (135.6 N m). Tighten the nut more until a cotter pin can be installed in the shaft assembly.21. Install the screen assembly and cover in the rear of the oil pump. 22. Install screen assembly (17) and cover (16) in the front of the oil pump. Install the bolts and locks that hold the cover in position.23. Make sure the oil pump will turn freely by hand.end by:a) install oil pump
