Information:
1. Put alignment marks on levers (2) and the shafts for the correct locations at installation.2. Loosen the bolts and the nuts that hold levers (2) on the shafts. Remove the bolts that hold brackets (1) to the governor housing. Disconnect brackets (1) and levers (2) from the governor. 3. Remove bolts (4), plate assembly (3) and the gasket from the cover assembly. 4. Remove bolt (6), cover (5) and the gasket from the cover assembly. 5. Remove bolt (7), cover assembly (9) and the gasket from governor housing (8). 6. Remove bolt (10), stop collar (11) and the spring from the bolt. 7. Remove the plug from the fuel pump housing and install tool (A) as shown. The square end (flat end) must be down. Push down on tool (A) as the governor control lever is moved forward to the "FUEL ON" position. When tool (A) drops into the notch in the rack, the racks are now in the center zero position.8. Remove bolts (12), housing assembly (8) and the gasket from the governor plate. 9. Remove seat (13), the washers and spring (14). 10. Disconnect the fuel lines from fittings (17).11. Make sure the fuel racks are in the center (zero) position as given in Step 7.12. Remove four bolts (15), governor plate (16) and the gasket from the fuel injection pump housing. 13. Put governor plate (16) on blocks as shown.Install Governor
The drive assembly must be removed from the governor plate before the governor plate is installed for correct alignment. The drive assembly can be damaged if it is installed with the governor plate and is not in alignment with the drive pinion assembly.
1. Remove the spiral ring and remove dowel (1). 2. Remove drive assembly (2) as shown. 3. Make sure the fuel racks are in the center (zero) position as given in Step 7 in Remove Governor.4. Install the gasket and governor plate (3) on the fuel injection pump housing. Make sure the dowel in the governor plate is in alignment with the hole in the fuel injection pump housing and lever (4) is in the notch in the rack. 5. If stop (5) was removed, make an alignment of the marks and install it in gear (6). 6. Install drive assembly (7). Make sure the slot in the drive assembly is engaged into the slot of the pin in the fuel injection pump housing.7. Make an alignment of the holes in drive assembly (7), the stop and the gear. Install dowel (8) that holds the gear, the stop and drive assembly (7) together. 8. Install spiral ring (9) on the rear to hold the dowel in place.9. Make sure ring (10) is in position on the seat with the side that has a curve (concave) toward the inside away from the seat. 10. Install spring (12), wave washer (11), flat washer (14), a wave washer and seat (13) as shown.11. Connect the fuel lines to fittings (15). Make sure the strainer assembly in the bottom of the housing does not drop out when the housing is installed.12. Install gasket (17) and housing assembly (16) on the governor plate. Install the bolts that hold it.13. Remove tool (A) and install the plug in the fuel injection pump housing. 14. Install spring (19) and stop collar (18) on the bolt. 15. Install the gasket and cover assembly (20) on the housing assembly. 16. Install gasket (22) and cover (21) on the cover assembly. 17. Put gasket (25) in position on the cover assembly.18. Install plate assembly (23) on the cover assembly. Make sure pin (24) is installed in the notch of the stop collar. 19. Put levers (27) in their original positions on the governor shafts and tighten the bolts and nuts.20. Connect brackets (26) to the governor.21. After the fuel ratio control is installed, check the governor adjustment. See Governor Adjustments in Testing And Adjusting.END BY:a) install fuel ratio controlDisassemble Governor
START BY:a) remove governor 1. Remove strainer (2) from cover assembly (1). 2. Bend the locks back and remove four bolts (6). Remove levers (4) and (5).3. Remove shaft (3) and the washer from the cover assembly. 4. Remove two bearings (7) and two seals (8) from the cover assembly with tooling (A). 5. Remove insulator (9) from cover assembly (1). 6. Put a mark on the low idle screw and high idle screw (10). Make a note of each turn until the idle screws are removed from governor housing (13). This is done to get an approximate setting for assembly purposes. Remove the O-ring seals from the idle screws.
Do not mix the sequence of insulators, spacers, contact, bar and spring. For more information, see Fuel Setting Information Fiche SBFY1106. The sequence of these parts can be different between engines. Bend lock (11) down and remove the two bolts. Remove torque spring group (12). Remove lock, retainer, insulator, spacer, contact, spring, spacer, shim, bar and insulator.
7. Bend the lock down and remove bolt (15) from control lever (14). Remove shaft (16) and control lever (14) from the governor housing. 8. Remove band assembly (17) from control lever (14).
Care must be taken when pin (18) is removed. The spring and plunger behind pin (18) are under spring force.
9. Remove pin (18), spring and plunger from control lever (14). 10. Remove bearings (19) and two seals (20) from governor housing (13). 11. Remove seat (21), spring washer (22), flat washer (24), spring washer (23) and spring (25). 12. Remove washer (27) from governor bolt (26).13. Remove ring (28) from seat (29). 14. Remove dowel (30) from seat (29). Remove seat (29) and governor bolt (26) as a unit. Remove bolt (26) from seat (29). 15. Remove washer (31), spring (32), washer (33) and sleeve (inset) (34) from the servo piston valve. 16. Remove ring (38), large race (37), bearing (35) and small race (36) from sleeve (34).
