Problem
An engine shutdown triggered by the Engine Monitoring and Protection System can not be overridden, by placing the 'Emergency Override Switch' in the on position, in engines with personality modules listed in this service letter. This feature is required by certain marine certification societies. New personality modules have been released to correct this problem.

The initial release of this letter contained software that corrected the Engine Protection Override Switch (EPOS) issue. Since then, several other improvements have been added to the software. This service letter has been revised to allow customers to receive the new improvements as well as the EPOS solution that the letter was originally written to address. This revised letter should not be applied to an engine that has already had PI1395 preformed.
