I     145-7044     Caliper     1    Note: Replace all O-ring seals and gaskets. Apply a light film of "10W" oil to all components before assembly.Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble later. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. All disassembly and all assembly procedures must be performed on a clean work surface and in a clean hydraulic area. Keep cleaned parts covered and protected at all times.Note: Use a bearing kit for replacement of bearings that are retained by a snap ring. The complete kit is necessary in order to maintain the proper bearing preload.

Use a suitable press in order to install bearings (22) on the shaft.

Use Tool (C) in order to install retaining ring (20) .

If the shaft is using a spanner nut in order to retain the bearings then use tool (G) in order to tighten the nut. Apply 9S-3263 Sealant to the threads of the shaft (23) before installing spanner nut (21) .
Tighten the spanner nut in order to obtain a .75 N m (6.6 lb in) to 1.10 N m (9.7 lb in) running torque. Note: If the bearings are tightened over the maximum torque then remove the bearings from the shaft. Start the assembly procedure again.
Check the running torque of the shaft (23). Firmly, hold the bearings by hand. Rotate the shaft with a torque wrench in order to check the running torque.

Assemble the motor in order to find the shim thickness that is required.
Temporarily install cover (7) and retaining ring (6). Measure distance (A) from the retaining ring to the end of shaft (23). Measure dimension (A) with Tooling I. Record this dimension.
Install shims (9) in order to obtain dimension (A). The proper dimension is listed in the following chart. Dimension (A) is the proper bearing preload.

Remove the retaining ring (6), the cover (7), and the shims (9). Keep the shims (9) that were just removed for installation later.
The following steps are necessary in order to select the thickness of the shim that will be installed later in the barrel of the rotator. The thickness of the shim determines the lift off limitation at various displacement angles.

Install washer (18) and center pin (19) .
