2. Width of the slot in the cylinder block for the crankshaft bearing cap is 160.000 + 0.018 - 0.023 mm (6.2992 + 0.0007 - 0.0009 inch).
L - - Distance from the centerline of the crankshaft bore to the bottom of the cylinder block is 110.00 0.10 mm (4.331 0.004 inch).
5 - - Assemble main bearing caps with the part number toward the right side. Identify main bearing caps by stamping numbers 1 through 7. The crankshaft main bearing caps must be installed with the sequence number toward the right. The order is 1 through 7 (front to rear).
M - - Bore in the cylinder block for the seven main bearings is 95.000 0.013 mm (3.7401 0.0005 inch).
- - - Use the following procedure to install the crankshaft bearing caps:
1. Apply clean engine oil to the threads of the bolts (6) and faces of the washers.
2.Tighten bolts (6) on each crankshaft bearing cap to 54 7 N m (40 5 lb ft).
3. Again, tighten bolts (6) on each crankshaft bearing cap to an additional angle of 90 5 degrees.
