2. Remove panels (1) and (2) from the left side of the vehicle.3. Drain the cooling system and the oil cooler. 4. Remove tube assembly (3) between the oil pan and the engine oil cooler. 5. Remove seal (4) and ring (5) from tube assembly. 6. Remove clips (8) and disconnect tube assemblies (6) and (7) from the oil cooler. 7. Install a strap and hoist on oil cooler (10). Remove the six bolts that fasten bonnet (9) to the cylinder block.8. Remove bonnet (9) from the engine oil cooler and the transmission and torque converter oil cooler. 9. Clean gasket surfaces on bonnet and remove seal (11) if necessary. 10. Disconnect hose (12) from valve and remove bolt that fastens hose bracket (14). Move hose from oil cooler.11. Remove two bolts (13) that fasten the bonnet to the cylinder block. Remove the cooler and bonnet as a unit. Weight of the assembly is 48 kg (105 lb.).Install Transmission And Torque Converter Oil Cooler
1. Inspect seals and gaskets and make any replacements if necessary. 2. Install a strap and hoist on oil cooler (1) and put it in position. Install two bolts to fasten bonnet (3) to the cylinder block.3. Install heater hose (2) and bracket. 4. Install seal (4) on bonnet (5) and use engine oil as lubricant on both the seal and in the engine oil cooler bores. 5. Install the gaskets and bonnet (5). Tighten bolts (6) that fasten the bonnet to the oil cooler to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb.ft.). Remove hoist. 6. Install the seals and tube assemblies (7) and (8) to the oil cooler. Install clamps (9). 7. Install ring (11) and seal (10) on tube assembly. Use oil of the type being sealed as a lubricant on the ring and seal. 8. Install gasket and tube assembly (12) between the engine oil cooler and the oil pan. 9. Install panels (13) and (14) on the left side of the vehicle.10. Fill the cooling system with coolant (see Maintenance Guide).11. Fill the transmission with lubricant (see Maintenance Guide).12. START BY:a) remove transmission and torque converter oil cooler 1. Remove seal (1) from bonnet and bonnet (3) from shell assembly (2). Put identification on both the bonnet and the shell assembly for assembly purposes. 2. Remove the bundle assembly (4) from shell assembly (2). 3. Remove seal (6) and if necessary pin (5) from hub. 4. Remove seals (7) and (9) from hub (8).Assemble Transmission And Torque Converter Oil Cooler
1. Inspect seals and gaskets and make any replacements if needed. Use engine oil on all seals as a lubricant. 2. Install seals (1) and (2) in hub. 3. Install seal (4) in hub. If removed, install pin (3) to a height dimension of 1.78 0.38 mm (.070 .015 in.). 4. Clean the tube bundle with a 3.18 mm (.125 in.) diameter rod (5) as shown. 5. Make an alignment of pin (3) in hub with the slotted hole (6) in bundle assembly. Put lubricant of the type to be sealed on the end sheet of the bundle assembly. 6. Install gasket and bonnet (9) on oil cooler (8).7. Install seal (7) on bonnet.END BY:a) install transmission and torque converter oil cooler
