0342625 EVINRUDE SCREW, Idle adjustment

1. Remove dust ejector tube assembly (2) from the muffler.2. Remove muffler brackets (1). 3. Fasten a hoist to the muffler. Loosen clamp (4) and remove muffler (3). Weight of muffler is 75 lb. (34 kg). 4. Remove two shields (5) from around exhaust crossover manifold and muffler elbow. Put caps or plugs on all disconnected lines, hoses or openings. 5. Remove dust ejector tube (7) from the air cleaner. Remove oil filler tube (6). 6. Disconnect two heater hoses (9) at the water pump. Loosen the rod assemblies and remove cup assembly (8) from the air cleaner. 7. Remove two air cleaner elements (10). 8. Remove the twelve nuts and washers and two bolts and washers (11) that hold the air cleaner housing to the plate assembly. 9. Remove bolts (12) and elbow (13).
Be sure to make correct identification of oil filter lines.
10. Put identification on hoses and tubes for correct assembly. Disconnect four fuel lines (14). Disconnect two oil lines (15) to the oil filters. 11. Disconnect tachometer cable (16) and fuel pressure indicator line (17). Remove nut, lockwasher and bolt (18) to disconnect throttle linkage. 12. Disconnect wiring harness (19). Disconnect clip (20) that holds the wiring to the frame. 13. Disconnect two cables (21) to the starter. 14. Remove tie strap (22) and disconnect engine oil pressure indicator line (23). 15. Loosen belt tightener rod (27). Remove refrigerant compressor belt (24) from the refrigerant compressor.16. Remove bolt (26) that holds the belt tightener rod to the alternator bracket. Remove four bolts (25) that hold the refrigerant compressor support to the engine. Lower refrigerant compressor (28) and fasten it to the frame. 17. Disconnect ground wire (29) from the frame. Remove four bolts and washers (30) that hold the engine front support to the chassis. The cushion hitch was removed for better photo illustration. 18. Disconnect air compressor discharge line (32) and governor line (34). Disconnect flywheel housing breather line (35).19. Disconnect scavenge pump discharge line (31). Disconnect return line (33) to the hydraulic seat. 20. Disconnect hose (36) from the differential. 21. Disconnect hoses (37). 22. Remove two engine rear mount caps (38).
Lift the engine and retarder from the frame slowly. Make sure all lines and hoses are disconnected or removed.
23. Fasten a hoist and tool (A) to the engine. Remove the engine and retarder as a unit. Weight of the unit is 5600 lb. (2520 kg).Install Engine And Retarder
1. Check all seals and gaskets for damage. If damaged, use new parts for replacement. 2. Fasten a hoist and tool (A) to the engine and retarder. Put engine and retarder (1) in position on the frame as a unit. Weight of the engine and retarder is 5600 lb. (2520 kg).3. Install the engine rear mount caps. Install the four washers and bolts that hold the engine front support to the frame. Connect the ground wire to the frame. 4. Install hoses (2) from the transmission. Connect the line from the differential to the retarder control valve. Cushion hitch was removed for better photo illustration. 5. Connect return line (5) from the hydraulic seat. Connect scavenge pump discharge line (4).6. Connect flywheel housing breather line (6). Connect air compressor governor line (7) and discharge line (3). 7. Install refrigerant compressor (10) on the engine. Install belt tightener rod (9) to the alternator bracket. Install vee belt (8). See Specifications Manual for correct belt tension. Tighten the nuts on the belt tightener and rod to a torque of 110 15 lb.ft. (149 20 N m). 8. Install engine oil pressure indicator line (11). 9. Install two cables (12) to the starter. 10. Install clip (14) and wiring harness (13). 11. Install tachometer cable (15), fuel pressure indicator line (17) and throttle linkage (16).
Make sure that the oil filter hoses are connected correctly.
12. Connect oil filter lines (19). Connect four fuel lines (18). 13. Install elbow (20) to the air cleaner. 14. Install gasket (21) and air cleaner housing (22). 15. Install two air cleaner elements (23). 16. Install cup (25) on the air cleaner. Install oil filler tube (26).17. Install two water heater hoses (27). Install dust ejector tube (24). 18. Install shields (28) for the exhaust crossover manifold and muffler elbow. 19. Fasten a hoist to the muffler and install muffler (29). Weight of the muffler is 75 lb. (34 kg).
