Remove grille (5).7. Remove precleaner (8).8. Loosen bolt (10).9. Remove U-clamp (11).10. Remove exhaust pipe (7). The 3116 Engine on this model could be equipped with a muffler (an attachment) instead of a exhaust pipe.11. Remove four remaining bolts (9) that secure hood assembly (6).12. Remove hood assembly (6). The weight of the unit is approximately 50 kg (110 lb). 13. Remove two bolts and washers (12) above hydraulic tank. 14. Remove two bolts (13) from the operator platform.

Move rubber boot to access and disconnect cable (17).19. Move rubber boot to access and disconnect cable (16).20. Move rubber boot to access and disconnect cable (14).21. Move rubber boot to access and disconnect cable (19).22. Remove two bolts (18). Remove battery bracket (21).23. Remove two bolts (15). Remove battery bracket (20).24. Use two people to remove battery (22).25. Use two people to remove battery (23). 26. Cut tyraps (24), (25) and (26). Pull wiring harness back to the engine. 27. Remove tywraps (27), (28) and P-clamp (29). Pull wiring harness back to the engine.28. Disconnect ground strap (30). It may be necessary for more tywraps and P-clamps to be removed. Cut all those not shown that hinder the main wiring harness from being positioned on the engine for the engine and pump removal from the machine. 29. Remove bolt (31) and washer. Remove nut, washer, large washer and rubber mount from bottom of left rear frame support.30. Left rear engine support (32) is ready for later removal of the engine and pumps. 31. Remove bolt (33) and washer. Remove nut, washer, large washer and rubber mount from bottom of right front frame support.32. Front engine support (34) (not shown) is ready for later removal of the engine and pumps. 33. Remove bolt (36) and washer. Remove nut, washer, large washer and rubber mount from bottom of left front frame support.34. Front engine support (34) (not shown) is ready for later removal of the engine and pumps. 35. Cut tywraps (36).36. Disconnect wiring terminal (37).37. Remove bolt and P-clamp (38).38. Disconnect two electrical connections (39).39. Pull wiring harness (40) back to the engine and pumps. 40. Disconnect six electrical connections (41).41. Remove bolt and P-clamp (43).42. Remove bolt and P-clamp (44).43. Disconnect electrical connection (45). Pull the wiring harness back to the engine and pumps. 44. Disconnect two clamps (47) to allow oil cooler lines (46) to be removed with the engine and the pumps. 45. Disconnect two hose assemblies (48) and (49). Cap or plug immediately. 46. Remove bolt (50) and washer. Remove nut, washer, large washer and rubber mount from bottom of right rear frame support.47. Right rear engine support (51) is ready for later removal of the engine and pumps.48. Remove two bolts (52). 49. Disconnect fuel lines (54) and (55). Cap or plug immediately.50. Disconnect fuel line (56). Cap or plug immediately.51. Remove clamp (57).52. Remove P-clamp (58).53. Loosen two nuts (60).54. Pull back on keeper (56). Disconnect cable (61). Cut the one tywrap located on the flywheel housing. 55. Disconnect hose assembly (62). Cap or plug immediately.56. Attach a suitable lifting device. Use load leveler (A) if possible. Due to the pumps weight, the flywheel end of the engine will be heavier that the vibration damper end of the engine. 57. Remove hose (63) from axle propel motor (64) to avoid damage during removal. 58. Remove cotter pin (67).59. Remove pin (65).60. Loosen two nuts (68).61. Reposition propel linkage (66). 62. Disconnect hose assembly (69). Cap or plug immediately.63. Disconnect hose assembly (70). Cap or plug immediately. 64. Disconnect hose assembly (71). Cap or plug immediately.65. Remove four bolts (73) and washers.66. Disconnect hose assembly (72). Check O-ring for wear or damage. 67. Disconnect hose assembly (76). Cap or plug immediately.68. Remove four bolts (75) and washers.69. Disconnect hose assembly (74). Check O-ring for wear or damage. 70. Disconnect hose assembly (77). Cap or plug immediately.71. Disconnect hose assembly (79). Cap or plug immediately.72. Disconnect hose assembly (80). Cap or plug immediately.73. Disconnect hose assembly (81). Cap or plug immediately.74. Disconnect hose assembly (78). Cap or plug immediately.
Before proceeding, check wiring harness connections, hydraulic hose assemblies connections, P-clamp or tywrap connections to be sure all disconnections have been made.
75. Cut any tyraps on additional hydraulic hoses that would not have to be disconnected to remove the engine and the pumps but will still interfere with the engine and pump removal.76. Raise the engine and pump with load leveler (A) very slowly to be sure that all disconnections have been made. 77. Position engine and pumps to suitable supports in a work area. For installation of the engine, reverse the removal steps. For separation of the engine from the pumps see topic, "Pump Separation From Engine" in this module.78. Fill the hydraulic tank to the correct level.79. Fill the radiator to the correct
