Information:
start by:a) remove fuel injection lines1. Fasten a hoist and remove the hood over the engine. The weight is 43 lb. (20 kg). 2. Close the three fuel valves on the fuel tank. Disconnect fuel lines (1) and (3). Disconnect air line (2) from the governor control roto-chamber. 3. Put identification on the wires and disconnect wires (4) from the fuel shutoff solenoid.4. Disconnect tube (5) from the fuel ratio control. 5. Remove bracket (6). 6. Disconnect fuel line (9) from the water separator. The fuel filter element and base can be removed as a unit or just the fuel filter element removed to get access to bolts (10).7. Remove fuel filter base (7) from the fuel injection pump housing. Disconnect fuel line (8) from the fuel injection pump housing. 7. Disconnect drain lines (11) from the fuel injection pump housing. Disconnect oil line (14).8. Remove bolts (10) that hold the clamps to the fuel injection pump housing.9. Remove the bolt that holds the clamps for lines (15) in place.10. Remove bolts (12) that hold bracket (13) for the water separator in place. 11. Remove bolt (17). Remove bracket (13) and water separator (16) from the machine. 12. Remove cover (18) from the timing gear cover. 13. Loosen bolt (19) until there is approximately 1/8 in. (3.2 mm) clearance between the bolt head and washer. 14. Install tool (A) on the fuel injection pump drive gear and automatic timing advance as shown. Use tool (A) to loosen the drive gear from the taper.15. Remove tool (A), bolt (19) and washer (20). 16. Remove turbocharger oil return line (23) and oil supply line (22).17. Fasten a hoist to the fuel injection pump housing and governor. Remove the nuts that hold the fuel injection pump in place. Remove fuel injection pump housing (21) and governor as a unit. The weight is 57 lb. (26 kg).Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor
1. Put the number one piston in top center compression position. See FINDING TOP CENTER COMPRESSION POSITION FOR NO. 1 PISTON in TESTING AND ADJUSTING Form No. SENR7355. 2. Remove bolt (2).3. Remove timing pin (1) from the cover of the governor housing.4. Put timing pin (1) in the hole for bolt (2). Turn the camshaft until pin (1) goes in the notch in the camshaft. 5. Fasten a hoist and install fuel injection pump (3) housing and governor on the engines. Install the three nuts that hold pump housing to the timing gear plate.6. Put the fuel injection pump drive gear and automatic timing advance in position on the camshaft and inltall the washer and bolt that hold it.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE7. Install tooling (A) in the holes of the fuel injection pump drive gear as shown. Put a torque of approximately 50 lb.ft. (70 N m) on the pump drive gear in a clockwise direction (as seen from the front of the engine). With the clockwise torque on the pump drive gear tighten the bolt to a torque of 110 5 lb.ft. (149 7 N m).8. Remove the timing pin (1). Remove the 3/8"-16 NC bolt from the flywheel.9. Turn the engine flywheel counterclockwise (as seen from rear of engine) two complete revolutions. If the timing pin (1) goes into the notch in the camshaft and the 3/8"-16 NC bolt goes into the flywheel at the same time, the timing is correct.10. If the timing pin (1) can not be installed see CHECKING TIMING BY TIMING PIN METHOD in TESTING AND ADJUSTING Form No. SENR7355. 11. Put the gasket in place and install cover (4) on the timing gear cover.12. Put the gasket in place and install the turbocharger oil return and supply line. 13. Connect drain line (6) to the fuel injection pump housing. Connect oil line (8).14. Put the clamps in place and install the bolt that holds lines (10) in place.15. Put the clamps in place and install bolts (5).16. Install bracket (7) and water separator (9). 17. Put the gasket in place and install fuel filter base (11).18. Connect fuel lines (12) and (13). 19. Install bracket (15) and clamp (14). 20. Connect tube (16) to the fuel ratio control.21. Connect wires (17) to the fuel shutoff solenoid. 22. Connect air line (20) to the governor control rotochamber.23. Connect fuel lines (19) and (18).24. Open the three fuel valves on the fuel tank.25. Fasten a hoist and install the hood over the engine.end by:a) install fuel injection lines
