Information:
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from contact with refrigerant. This system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Heat should never be applied to a charged system. Contact with refrigerant can cause frost bite. Keep face and hands away to help prevent injury.Protective goggles must always be worn when refrigerant lines are opened, even if the gauges indicate the system is empty of refrigerant.Always use precaution when a fitting is removed. Slowly loosen the fitting. If the system is still under pressure, release it slowly in a well ventilated area.Personal injury or death can result from inhaling refrigerant through a lit cigarette.Inhaling air conditioner refrigerant gas through a lit cigarette or other smoking method or inhaling fumes released from a flame contacting air conditioner refrigerant gas, can cause bodily harm or death.Do not smoke when servicing air conditioners or wherever refrigerant gas may be present. Before any checks of the air conditioning and heating system are made, move the machine to a smooth horizontal surface. Lower all implements to the ground. Make sure the transmission is in NEUTRAL or PARK and that the parking brake is engaged. Keep all other personnel either away from the machine or where they can be seen.
Install caps and plugs on all openings in order to prevent dirt or debris from entering the system. Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal components.
Before any service work is performed on the air conditioning system consult the following reference. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, Air Conditioning and Heating, SENR5664, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting".
Recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, Air Conditioning and Heating, SENR5664, "Refrigerant Recovery".

Disconnect two hose assemblies (4) and (5) from condenser assembly (2).
Put identification marks on four bolts (1) and eight bolts (3) that hold condenser assembly (2) to the radiator. Remove four bolts (1) and remove eight bolts (3) and the washers that hold condenser assembly (2) to the radiator. Remove condenser assembly (2) from the radiator. Installation Procedure
Verify that all of the components are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation. Check all of the O-ring seals and all of the components for wear and replace all of the O-ring seals and all of the components, if necessary.
Illustration 2 g00604808
Position condenser assembly (2) to the radiator, as shown. Install four bolts (1) and remove eight bolts (3) and the washers that hold condenser assembly (2) to the radiator.
Connect two hose assemblies (4) and (5) to condenser assembly (2).
Evacuate the air conditioning system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, Air Conditioning and Heating, SENR5664, "Refrigerant System - Evacuate".
Charge the air conditioning system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, Air Conditioning and Heating, SENR5664, "Refrigerant System - Charge". End By:
Install the radiator guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Guard (Radiator) - Remove and Install".
