start by: a) remove radiator guardb) remove crankcase guard (rear) **This operation is in the POWER TRAIN DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY SECTION. 1. Remove bolts (2) that hold the floor plates in position. Remove three floor plates (1). 2. Disconnect two rods (3) for the steering clutch controls. Disconnect two rods (4) for the brake pedals.3. Drain the oil from the torque converter and transmission. 4. Disconnect torque converter oil temperature sending unit line (5) from the torque converter. 5. Remove clips (6) and (7) that hold the torque converter oil temperature sending unit line in position. 6. Remove water temperature sending unit line (8) from the housing for the water temperature regulators. 7. Disconnect air cleaner indicator line (12).8. Disconnect oil pressure gauge line (11).9. Disconnect fuel pressure gauge line (9).10. Disconnect main wire (10) for the glow plugs.11. Move all the lines and wires clear of the engine. 12. Disconnect main wiring harness (15) at the dash.13. Bend clip (14) back and remove the main harness from it.14. Remove two bolts (13).15. Disconnect rod (16) from the lever for the governor control. Disconnect the decelerator control group. 16. Install two 3/8"-16NC forged eyebolts in the dash. Fasten a hoist and tool (A) to the dash as shown. 17. Remove bolts (17) from the right side of the dash. 18. Remove bolts (18) from the left side of the dash.19. Remove the dash. Weight of the dash is 200 lb. (91 kg). 20. Disconnect vent line (19) from the torque converter outlet relief valve.21. Fasten a hoist to the universal joint. Remove the bolts that hold it in position. Remove universal joint (20). Weight of the universal joint is 50 lb. (22.7 kg). 22. Loosen two clamps (24). Slide the hose down on the tube assembly.23. Remove tube assembly (23) from the torque converter.24. Disconnect line (25) from the torque converter outlet relief valve.25. Remove the two bolts that hold adapter (21) to the torque converter.26. Disconnect line (22) from the adapter. 27. Disconnect line (27) and remove spacer (28) from the transmission.28. Disconnect line (29) from the torque converter.29. Disconnect line (26) for the transmission hydraulic controls. 30. Disconnect inlet elbow and line (31) from the hydraulic pump.31. Disconnect outlet elbow and line (30) from the hydraulic pump.32. Disconnect outlet line (32) from the hydraulic pump. 33. Disconnect line (33) from the transmission magnetic screen. 34. Remove tool box (35) and the brackets that hold it.35. Disconnect fuel line (34) at the primary fuel filter.36. Disconnect wires (36) from the electric starting motor. Put identification on the wires to prevent mixing at assembly.37. Disconnect oil lines (37) and (38) from under the oil pan. 38. Remove four bolts (39) from the flywheel housing and the frame of the machine.39. Remove four bolts (40) from the engine front support and the frame of the machine. 40. Fasten tool (B) to a hoist. Fasten a hoist and tool (B) to the engine as shown. Remove the engine and torque converter (41) as a unit. Weight of the unit is 8500 lb. (3856 kg). Remove the shims from the frame of the machine. Put identification on the shims to prevent mixing at assembly. Bolts that hold the rear supports to the flywheel housing must be checked. Tighten bolts to a torque of 150 lb.ft. (205 N m). Put a mark on the bolt head and support and turn the bolt an additional 120° 5°.Install Engine And Torque Converter
1. Fasten tool (A) to a hoist. Fasten tool (A) and the hoist to the engine as shown. Put the engine and torque converter in position over the frame of the machine. Do not lower engine and torque converter (1) on to the frame at this time. Keep support and bolt or washer areas free of dirt and paint. 2. Put shims (2) in the correct position under the engine front support.3. Put the shims in the correct position under the flywheel housing at the rear of the engine. Lower the engine down on to the frame. 4. Install four bolts (4) in the engine front support and frame. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 350 25 lb.ft. (470 35 N m).5. Install four bolts (3) in the flywheel housing and frame. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 950 50 lb.ft. (1300 70 N m). 6. Connect fuel line (6) to the primary fuel filter.7. Install tool box (5) and the brackets that hold it.8. Connect oil lines (7) and (8) under the oil pan.9. Connect wires (9) to the electric starting motor. 10. Connect oil line (10) to the magnetic screen. 11. Connect inlet elbow (12) and the oil line to the hydraulic pump.12. Connect outlet elbow (11) and the oil line to the hydraulic pump.13. Connect outlet oil line (13) to the hydraulic pump. 14. Put spacer (17) in position and connect oil line (16) to the transmission.15. Connect line (15) to the torque converter.16. Connect line (14) for the transmission hydraulic controls. 17. Put adapter (19) in position and connect line (21) to the adapter and torque converter.18. Connect line (20) to the torque converter outlet relief valve.19. Slide hose (22) over the tube assembly. Tighten the two clamps that hold it.20. Connect line (18) to the torque converter. 21. Fasten a hoist to universal joint (23). Put the universal joint in position between the torque converter and transmission. Install the bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 100 5 lb. ft. (135.6 6.8 N m). 22. Connect vent line (24) to the torque converter outlet relief valve. 23. Fasten a hoist and tool (B) to the dash. Put dash (25) in position on the flywheel housing.24. Install the bolts that hold the dash in position. 25. Connect main wiring harness (27) to the back of the dash.26. Install two bolts (26).27. Put the main harness in the clip on the back of the dash. Bend the
