1. Remove the seat retaining ring (1) and pin (2). 2. Remove the seat (3), bolt (4), washers (5), and spring (6).3. Remove the sleeve and bearing assembly from the cylinder and weight assemblies. 4. Remove the retaining ring (7) from sleeve (8).5. Remove bearing (9) and races (10) from sleeve (8). 6. Remove the valve (11) from piston (12).7. Remove the cylinder-to-weight assembly retaining ring (13).8. Remove the weight assembly (14).9. Remove piston (12) and sleeve (15) from the cylinder (16).10. Remove the O-ring seal from the sleeve (15). 11. Remove the speed limiter plug (17), spring (18), and plunger (19) from the governor housing.12. Remove the high idle screw (20) and low idle screw (21). 13. Remove the decelerator cable control lever (22).14. Remove the the decelerator control spring lever (23).15. Remove the governor control lever (24) and stop clamp (25).16. Remove the lip-type seal from the governor control lever (24). 17. Remove the ring (26).18. Remove the plate assemblies (27 and 28), rollers (29 and 30), and spring from the ring (27).19. Remove the lip-type seal from ring (26).20. Remove shaft assembly (31) from governor housing. 21. Remove the lever assembly-to-shaft assembly retaining bolt (32) and lock.22. Remove the shaft assembly (33) and lever assembly (34) from governor housing.Assemble Governor
1. Position the lever assembly and shaft assembly in the governor housing. Install the retaining bolt and lock. 2. Using tool setup (A), install the seal in ring (1) with lip of seal toward the governor. Lubricate lip of seal with clean SAE 30 engine oil. 3. Install spring (2) in slot in plate assembly (3). Install the plate assembly (3) in ring (1). Install springs (4) in plate assembly (5). Position the plate assembly (5) in ring (1) on top of plate assembly (3) and install rollers (6). 4. Install shaft assembly (7) on governor. Install ring (1).5. Install the stop clamp on ring (1). 6. Using tool setup (B), install the seal in governor control lever (8) with spring side of seal toward governor. Lubricate lip of seal with clean SAE 30 engine oil.7. Install the governor control lever (8) on the shaft assembly (7). The decelerator control spring lever, spring, and decelerator cable control lever are to be installed after the governor has been installed on engine, and the governor adjustments and rack setting have been made.8. Install the high and low idle screws in the governor housing.9. Install the speed limiter plug, spring, and plunger in the governor housing. 10. Install the O-ring seal (9) on sleeve (10).11. Install piston (11) and sleeve (10) in the cylinder (12). 12. Position the weight assembly (13) on cylinder (12), and install retaining ring (14). 13. Install the valve (15) in piston (11).14. Install the bearing and races in sleeve. Install retaining ring. Install the sleeve and bearing assembly (16) on valve (15). 15. Position the seat (17), bolt (18), washers, and spring on the valve (15). Install the retaining pin (19) and ring (20).concluding steps: a) connect governor to fuel injection pump housingb) install fuel injection pump housing and governor as a unitc) set rack and adjust governor (See FUEL RACK SETTING and GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENTS in TESTING AND ADJUSTING)d) adjust governor control and decelerator linkage (See GOVERNOR CONTROL AND DECELERATOR LINKAGE ADJUSTMENTS in TESTING AND ADJUSTING)
