Problem
Governor damage may occur on certain 3408 and 3412 Generator Set and Industrial Engines equipped with a 7W7787 Shutoff Group (7W1075 Solenoid Assembly). Repeated shutdown cycles may eventually fatigue the 2H3429 Ring and allow the ring to disengage from the bearing guide.

Action Required
Remove the fuel shutoff solenoid and the thin cover opposite the solenoid from the governor housing. Install the new parts as shown in the illustration and perform the following adjustment procedure. If the engine is already equipped with the adjustable stop bolt, verify that the adjustment is correct. Adjustment Procedure With the solenoid removed, use the manual shutoff lever to rotate the manual shutoff shaft to the maximum position in the shutoff direction. While holding the shaft in this position, adjust the 7E6073 Bolt (solenoid stop bolt) clockwise until the headed end of the bolt contacts the internal shutoff lever. Continue to turn the 7E6073 Bolt inward an additional 3/4 +/- 1/4 of a turn. Tighten the 4J8265 Nut to lock the solenoid stop bolt in this position. Install the seal wire and the dealers governor seal. The above procedure should be followed each time the solenoid or the adjustable bolt stop and cover are removed from the governor. ****** IMAGE: SEBE4463.00001.001 CAPTION:
