December 31, 1995 (exception: see Rework 7) INTRODUCTION Caterpillar is committed to providing fair customers value on all products sold. In the case of the 950F some users working in specific conditions have experienced a series of problems they would not normally expect from a Caterpillar product. The result is a level of satisfaction below that which Caterpillar strives for. When forced with such a challenge it is Caterpillar aim to restore customer satisfaction in as fair and equitable manner as possible. It is with this in mind the Product Support Program covering the 3116 engine fitted in the 950F has been initiated. This PSP provides solutions to customers to ensure that they obtain fair and equitable value from the product irrespective of when it was purchased. The technical solutions provided combined with the extended warranty coverage are intended to restore any customer confidence that may have been lost. As this program is implemented with our customer we count on your support to ensure that the full value of Caterpillar product purchased is realized. I. GUIDELINES ON HOW TO APPLY THIS PROGRAM 1. Perform the appropriate reworks needed according to unit Serial Number. 2. RECENT UNITS Update the engine of field machines with Serial Numbers 6YG2229, 2234, 2235, 2240, 2247, 2250-2252, 2254-2256, 2258-2264, 2266-up (all these units should have engine Serial Numbers in the range 4TF6626-up) to today's configuration with Rework 3 - Oil Pan, and Rework 4 - Turbocharger Compressor Housing.
