2. Disconnect hose assemblies (2) and (3) from the adapter.3. Loosen the hose clamps that hold hose (1) in position. Move the hose away from the radiator and onto the water pump elbow. 4. Disconnect hose assembly (6) from adapter (7).5. Loosen the hose clamps that hold hose (5). Move the hose away from the radiator and onto tube assembly (4). 6. Disconnect hose assembly (10) from the elbow.7. Loosen the clamps that hold hoses (8) and (11). Move the hoses away from the radiator.8. Remove the bolts that hold fan guard (9) to the radiator. Move the fan guard away from the radiator.
Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping Freon-12 (C C12F2 Dichloro Difluoro Methane) can cause freezing of human flesh.Do not smoke while working on air conditioning systems. Inhaling Freon-12 through any smoking material, although not toxic or flammable, can generate phosgene gas and cause violent illness. Also, heat must never be applied to a charged system. See Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual, Form No. SENR3334, for more information on removal and installation of lines and refrigerant from the system.
9. Release the refrigerant from the air conditioning system. See Purging The System in Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual, Form No. SENR3334.10. Disconnect hose assemblies (13) and (14) from air conditioning condensor (12). Put plugs or caps on all of the openings.11. Remove the bolts that hold the clips and hose assemblies (13) and (14) to the radiator. Move the hose assemblies away from the front of the radiator. 12. Remove the bolts and plate (15) from in front of the radiator. 13. Fasten a hoist to radiator (16). 14. Remove the bolts and straps (18) that hold the bottom of the radiator to the frame. 15. Remove two bolts (17) from each side of the radiator, and remove the radiator from the machine. The weight of the radiator is 321 kg (708 lb).Install Radiator
1. Fasten a hoist to radiator (1). 2. Put the radiator in position, and install two bolts (2) on each side of the radiator. 3. Put straps (3) in position on each side of the radiator, and install the bolts that hold them. 4. Connect hose assemblies (5) and (6) to air conditioning condenser (4). Put the hose assemblies and clips in position, and install the bolts that hold them to the radiator. 5. Put fan guard (8) in position on the radiator, and install the bolts that hold it.6. Put hoses (7) and (10) in position, and tighten the clamps that hold them in place.7. Connect hose assembly (9). 7. Put hose (11) in position on the elbow, and tighten the clamps that hold it in place.8. Connect hose assembly (12) to adapter (13). 9. Put hose (15) in position on the elbow, and tighten the clamps that hold it in place.10. Connect hose assemblies (14), (16) and (17) to the adapter. 11. Put plate (18) in position, and install the bolts that hold it.12. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.
