Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that the turbocharger is clean and free from damage. Inspect the turbocharger for wear. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Turbocharger - Inspect" for more information. If the turbocharger is worn, the complete turbocharger must be replaced.

If necessary, follow Step 2a through Step 2g to install tube assembly (8).
Install a new O-ring seal (46) (not shown) to the adapter. Ensure that the O-ring seal is correctly seated into the recess of the adapter.
Install tube assembly (8) and loosely install bolt (49) and bolt (48) to the clips on the tube assembly.
Connect tube nut (47) to the adapter hand tight.
Tighten tube nut (47) to a torque of 45 N m (33 lb ft). Use a suitable tool to hold the adapter as the tube nut is tightened.
Tighten bolt (49) and bolt (48) to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in).
Install the fuel injection pump to fuel manifold high-pressure line. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Injection Lines - Install" for the correct procedure.
Install the throttle valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Throttle Valve - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

If necessary, follow Step through Step to install the engine harness.
Connect engine harness (40) from flow control valve (41).
Connect engine harness (42) from fuel temperature sensor (43).
Disconnect engine harness (35) from pressure sensor Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) pressure sensor (36).
Install new cable strap (34), new cable strap (37), new cable strap (38), new cable strap (39), and new cable strap (44).Note: Ensure that the cable straps meet the OEM specifications.

Follow Step 4a through Step 4g to install tube assembly (16).
If necessary, follow Step 4b through Step 4e to assemble tube assembly (16) and tube assembly (31).
Install hose clamp (32) to tube assembly (31). Ensure that the hose clamp is correctly orientated. Install hose (28) to the tube assembly.
Use a suitable tool to compress and slide the hose clamp onto the hose assembly.Note: Ensure that the hose clamps are correctly positioned onto the hose assembly.
Install hose clamp (33) to tube assembly (16). Ensure that the hose clamp is correctly orientated. Install the tube assembly into hose (28) and align temporary marks.
Use a suitable tool to compress and slide the hose clamp onto the hose assembly.Note: Ensure that the hose clamp is correctly positioned onto the hose assembly.
If necessary, install a new gasket (29) (not shown) to tube assembly (31). Ensure that the gasket is correctly positioned onto the tube assembly.
Position tube assembly (16) onto the cylinder block. Install bolts (30). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in).

Install stud (26) and studs (27) to turbocharger (6). Tighten the studs to a torque of 11 N m (97 lb in).

Ensure that the gasket surfaces of turbocharger (6) and exhaust manifold (11) are clean and free from wear or damage. Ensure that stub pipe for clean emissions module (23) is clean and free from wear and damage. Install new V-band clamp onto the clean emissions module.Note: Ensure that the V-band clamp is correctly orientated.
Install a new gasket (13) (not shown) onto turbocharger (6). Ensure that the gasket is correctly orientated.
Install new gasket (14) (not shown) onto tube assembly (16).

Inspect adaptor (21) for wear or damage. If the adaptor is worn or damaged replace the adaptor. Install new ring (24) and new seal (25) onto the adaptor.
Loosely install adaptor assembly (21) into clean emissions module (23). Support the adaptor, install turbocharger (6) to exhaust manifold (11). Loosely install nuts (12).
Align the adaptor with the turbocharger. Install new gasket (19) (not shown) to the adaptor. Install bolts (20), loosely install the bolts.
Tighten nuts (12) to a torque of 21 N m (186 lb in).
Tighten nuts (12) to an additional torque of 28 N m (248 b in).
Tighten bolts (20) to a torque of 44 N m (33 lb ft)
Position V-band clamp (22) onto adapter (21). Ensuring the V-band clamp is correctly seated.
Hand tighten V-band clamp (22). Ensure that turbocharger (6) is not strained as the V-band clamp is tightened.
Tighten V-band clamp (22) to a torque of 13 N m (115 lb in).
Install Allen head bolts (15).
Tighten Allen head bolts (15) to a torque of 12 N m (106 lb in).

Loosely install bolts (18) and install heat shield (17) onto the bolts.
Tighten bolts (18) to a torque of 8 N m (71 lb in)
