Information:
1. Remove lubrication supply line (4) for the turbocharger.2. Disconnect control linkage (1) from governor.3. Disconnect fuel injection lines (2). Put a cap on all openings.4. Remove breather tube (3).5. Remove bolts that hold fuel injection pump housing to the accessory drive housing.6. Loosen two bolts in bracket (5). 7. Remove the governor and fuel injection pump housing (6) as a unit. Weight is 48 lb. (22 kg).Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor
1. Remove timing plug (1) from the flywheel housing.2. Turn crankshaft clockwise as seen from the front of the engine (rear of machine) until a 3/8"-16 NC bolt, 2 1/4 in. long can be installed in the flywheel through the timing hole. If the timing hole in the flywheel is turned too far, do not turn the crankshaft back. Turn the crankshaft two more turns, until bolt can be installed. 3. Remove crankcase breather (2) from valve cover.4. When No. 1 piston is at top center compression position, the intake and exhaust rocker arms for No. 1 cylinder can be moved through the breather hole in the valve cover.5. If either of the rocker arms can not be moved, remove the timing bolt and turn the crankshaft 360° and install the timing bolt again.6. Install tool (A) on the rear face of the accessory drive housing. Install the plate with the dowels in the accessory drive housing in alignment with the dowel holes in the plate. If the timing fixture can be installed, the timing is correct. If the timing fixture can not be installed, use the following procedure in Steps 7 through 11 to get accessory drive in time.7. Loosen the alternator and remove the belts from the pulley. 8. Remove cover (3) from timing gear cover. 9. Remove the nut and washer from the accessory drive gear. Install tooling (B) and loosen gear on shaft. Remove tooling.10. Turn accessory drive shaft enough to install tool (A). 11. Install washer (4) so the outer edge makes contact with the gear first. Install nut (5) and tighten to a torque of 100 10 lb.ft. (135 14 N m).12. Put the fuel injection pump housing and governor in position on the engine. Install bolts that hold it to the accessory drive housing.13. Tighten two bolts in bracket (8).14. Install crankcase breather and tube.15. Install tubocharger supply line (7). 16. Connect control linkage (6) to governor.17. Remove the caps and connect the fuel lines to pumps. Tighten the nuts on the lines to a torque of 30 5 lb.ft. (40 7 N m).18. Remove the timing bolt and install the plug.Separation Of Governor From Fuel Injection Pump Housing
start by:a) remove fuel injection pump housing and governor 1. Remove the cover (1).2. Remove the screw (2) for the rack stop collar.3. Remove rack stop collar (3).4. Remove the bolts (4) that hold the governor to the housing of injection pumps. 5. Remove the governor housing (5).6. Remove the governor spring and seat from the guide in housing (5).7. Remove the washer type spring (6) from bolt.8. Remove the three bolts (7) and lock that hold the cylinder and weight (8) to the housing of injection pumps.9. Pull the cylinder and weight assemblies straight out until they are free of dowels. 10. Slide the cylinder and weight assemblies to the side to free the piston from rack (9).Connection Of Governor To Fuel Injection Pump Housing
1. Put the cylinder and weight assemblies (1) in position on the housing of injection pumps so the piston (2) is in correct location on the rack (3).2. Push the cylinder and weight assemblies on to the location dowels. 3. Install the three bolts (4) and lock.4. Install the washer type spring (5) on bolt (6).5. Put the seat and governor spring on guide in governor housing. The washer type spring (5) must be installed so the inside diameter of spring will be against the guide in governor housing (7).6. Put the governor housing (7) in position on housing of injection pumps, and install the bolts. 7. Install the rack stop collar (8) on bolt (6).8. Put the idle screw cover (10) in position on the governor housing so the dowel (11) in housing is engaged with groove (slot) (12) in the rack stop collar.9. Install the bolts that hold the idle screw cover to the governor housing.end by: a) install fuel injection pump housing and governorb) make an adjustment to the rack and governor (See FUEL RACK SETTING AND GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENTS in TESTING AND ADJUSTING)
