Start By:a. remove expansion tank & heat exchangerb. remove crankshaft pulleyc. remove oil pan 1. Remove bolts (7) and front support (6). Remove water lines (1) and (3) from the exhaust manifolds. Remove tachometer drive adapter (2). Remove elbow (4).2. Remove elbow (5) and sea water pump (8). 3. Remove the clamps from the water sleeves in each cylinder head. Push the sleeves into the timing gear cover with tool (A) and a screwdriver.4. Remove the bolts that hold the timing gear cover to the cylinder block. Be sure to remove the bolt that is behind elbow (4). Put identification of the bolts as to their location for use at installation.
Be extra careful not to cause damage of the crankshaft front seal during removal and installation of the timing gear cover.
5. Install two 7/16"-14 NC forged eyebolts in the timing gear cover. Fasten a hoist and remove timing gear cover (9) and the oil pump from the dowels on the cylinder block. The weight of the cover and pump is 61 kg (136 lb). The following steps are for installation of the timing gear cover and oil pump.6. Clean the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and timing gear cover. Install the timing gear cover gasket on the cylinder block. Make sure the water sleeves are installed in the timing gear cover. Put oil or grease on the seals for easier installation.7. Install two 7/16"-14 NC forged eyebolts in the timing gear cover. Fasten a hoist and put the timing gear cover (9) and the oil pump in position on the engine. Make sure the oil pump gear and crankshaft gear are in alignment.8. Install the bolts that hold the cover in place.9. Push the water sleeves into the cylinder heads with tool (A) and a screwdriver. Install the clamps to hold the water sleeves.10. Put front support (6) in position and install bolts (7).11. Install elbow (4) and the bolts that hold it to the timing gear cover. Connect water lines (1) and (3) to the exhaust manifolds.12. Install tachometer drive adapter (2) and the bolts.13. Start By:a. remove oil panb. remove crankshaft pulley 1. Remove tube (1). Remove belt adjuster (2) and fan drive adapter (3). 2. Remove air compressor tube (5) and belt adjuster (4). 3. Remove bolts (8) and support (9).4. Remove nuts (7) and tachometer drive adapter (6). 5. Loosen clamp (10), and disconnect hose (11) from the timing gear cover. 6. Remove clips (13) and disconnect three lines (12). 7. Remove clips (14) from the water sleeves. 8. Push water sleeves (15) into the front cover with tool (A). 9. Remove two bolts (16), connector (17) and the gasket behind it. 10. Remove bolts (18), elbow (19) and the gasket behind it. 11. Remove bolt (20) and disconnect clamp (21).

12. Install tooling (B) and a hoist on the front cover. Remove all the bolts that hold the timing gear cover to the cylinder block. Remove cover (22) and the oil pump. The weight of the timing gear cover and oil pump is 62 kg (136 lb). The following steps are for installation of the timing gear cover and oil pump.13. Clean the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and timing gear cover. Install the timing gear cover gasket on the cylinder block. Make sure the water sleeves are installed in the timing gear cover. Install the timing gear cover gasket on the cylinder block.14. Install tooling (B) on timing gear cover (22).15. Put the cover in position, and align the dowels and their respective holes. Install the bolts that hold timing gear cover (22) to the cylinder block.16. Connect clamp (21) and install bolt (20).17. Install the gasket, elbow (19), and bolts (18).18. Install the gasket, connector (17), and bolts (16).19. Push water sleeves (15) into the cylinder heads with tool (A).20. Install clips (14) on the water sleeves.21. Connect three lines (12), and install clips (13) that hold them.22. Install hose (11) and clamp (10).23. Put engine support (9) in position, and install bolts (8).24. Put tachometer drive adapter (6) in position, and install nuts (7).25. Install belt adjuster (4) and air compressor tube (5).26. Install fan drive adapter (3) and belt adjuster (2).27.
