Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide", NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates. 1. Remove six bolts and washers (1) and remove grill assembly (2) from radiator guard assembly (3). 2. Disconnect wiring harness (4) from horn and remove bolt, washer and clip (5) from radiator and set aside. 3. Attach tooling (A) to radiator guard (2) and secure to hoist as shown.4. Remove bolts and washers (6). 5. Remove four bolts and washers (7).6. Remove radiator guard (2) from frame. Weight of radiator (2) is 55 kg (120 lb).

Loosen clamp (10), and remove lower radiator hose (11).10. Disconnect two hydraulic cooler hose assemblies (12) and (13). 11. Loosen nut (14) to release tension from belt (18). Remove bolt (15), and washer and nut holding holding adjusting block (16) to the air conditioning compressor (17). 12. Disconnect wire connector (20) and hose assembly (21) from ether starting aid (19). 13. Remove bolt, nut and washer (22). Remove belt (18) from air conditioning compressor (17) and position the air conditioning compressor (17) out of the way. 14. Attach lifting device to Radiator group (23) as shown. 15. Remove two bolts (25) connecting the upper fan guard (24) and the lower fan guard (26). Remove eight bolts (27) and washers. Remove both guards. 16. Remove four bolts (28), and move shroud (29) away from the radiator group (23). 17. Remove two bolts (30) from the bottom of radiator (23).18. Remove radiator group (23) from the machine. Weight of the radiator is 95 kg (210 lb). 19. Attach tooling (A) to oil cooler (31). Remove eight bolts (32) and remove oil cooler (31). Install in reverse order of removal. Refill radiator to proper coolant level. Check for leaks.
