Remove the nuts and bolts that hold support assembly (1) to the lower support. Pull the elbow and support assembly (1) out of the turbocharger and remove them as a unit from the machine. Remove the coupling from the turbocharger exhaust elbow.
Make sure the pins are installed in the levers of the fire suppression agent cylinders so the fire suppression system will not be activated. Personal injury can be the result if the fire suppression system is activated when hose (2) is disconnected.
3. Disconnect hose (2) from the fire suppression nozzle.4. Disconnect governor control linkage (3) from the governor control shaft. 5. Disconnect hydraulic oil lines (5) and (6) from hydraulic oil cooler (4). 6. Disconnect wiring harness (9) from the left rear of the engine.7. Disconnect tube (8) from tube (7) and the either starting aid unit. Remove tube (8) from the machine. 8. Remove shield assembly (10) for clearance to fasten a hoist to the engine. 9. Put identification on the electric wires as to their location on the starting motor for correct installation. Disconnect wires (11), (12) and wiring harness (13) from the starting motor. 10. Disconnect engine wiring harness (15) from wiring harness (14). 11. Disconnect heater hoses (16) from the engine. 12. Disconnect elbow (17), pressure control valve (18) and hose assembly (19) from the implement pump. 13. Disconnect governor control linkage (3) from lever (20) and remove linkage (3) from the machine.14. Turn the fuel supply to the engine off. Disconnect fuel lines (21) from the back of the firewall. Put caps and plugs in the openings to keep dirt and foreign material out of the fuel system. 15. Remove bolt (22) that holds the hose clips to guard (23).16. Remove the four bolts and guard (23) from over the alternator and air conditioner compressor vee belts.17. Remove the top half of guard (24) from over the power train oil pump drive shaft. 18. Disconnect hose assembly (31) from the bottom of the torque divider. The oil in the torque divider housing will drain at this time. 24. Disconnect hose assemblies (32) and (33) from the back of the torque divider housing. 25. Remove brackets (34) and bolts (35) that hold the rear of the engine from both sides of the machine. 26. Fasten a hoist to the engine with tool (A). Fasten tooling (B) to the right side of the flywheel housing and the hoist. 27. Remove bolts (36) that hold both sides of the engine front support to the machine.28. Remove the engine and torque divider from the machine. Use tooling (B) to keep the engine and torque divider level for removal. The weight of the engine and torque divider is 2948 kg (6550 lb.).Install Engine And Torque Divider (D9L)
1. Fasten a hoist to the engine with tool (A).2. Fasten tooling (B) to the hoist and the right side of the flywheel housing.3. Lift the engine and torque divider. Use tooling (B) to keep the unit level and put it in position on the machine.4. Install bolts (35) and (36) to hold the engine and torque divider in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 570 80 N m (420 60 lb.ft.).5. Install brackets (34) on each side of the machine.6. Make sure the O-ring seal is installed in the end of hose assembly (32) and put clean engine oil on it. Connect hose assemblies (32) and (33) to the back of the torque divider housing.7. Make sure the O-ring seal is installed in the end of hose assembly (31) and put clean engine oil on it. Connect hose assembly (31) to the bottom of the torque divider housing.8.
