Start By:a. remove hydraulic oil cooler
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
1. Release the pressure in the cooling system. Drain the coolant from the radiator. The capacity of the cooling system is 14.6 liters (3.9 U.S. gal).2. Remove the counterweight from the machine. See Remove & Install Counterweight in the Vehicle Systems Disassembly & Assembly module, Form No. SENR4597. 3. Loosen the two clamps, and remove upper radiator hose (1).4. Remove the bolts which hold the upper and lower fan guards in position. Remove upper and lower fan guards (2). 5. Loosen the two clamps, and remove lower radiator hose (3).6. Remove lower bolts (4) that hold both the left and right hand stay support tubes to the swing frame. 7. Remove two bolts (5) and support (6) from above of the radiator. 8. Fasten tool (A) to the mounting frame of the radiator as shown; then fasten a hoist to the mounting frame.9. Remove the four bolts, washers and nuts (7) that hold the mounting frame for the radiator and hydraulic oil cooler to the swing frame. Remove the radiator, the mounting frame and the fan shroud as a unit. Weight of the unit is 27 kg (60 lb).
Do not damage the radiator core when it is removed or installed in the mounting frame.
10. Remove eight bolts (8) and fan shroud (9) from the mounting frame for the radiator and the hydraulic oil cooler. Fasten a hoist to the radiator (10), and slide it out of the mounting frame. The approximate weight of the radiator is 23 kg (50 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the radiator.11. Fasten a hoist to radiator (10), and slide it in the mounting frame. Position the fan shroud on the mounting frame. Install eight bolts (8) that hold the fan shroud and the radiator to the mounting frame.12. Fasten tool (A) and a hoist to the mounting frame of the radiator. Put the mounting frame and radiator in position on the swing frame. Install the four bolts, washers and nuts (7) that hold the unit to the swing frame.13. Check the clearance between the fan blades and the fan shroud. The clearance should be approximately the same at the top, bottom and sides of the shroud. If the clearance is not correct, loosen the shroud mounting bolts, and reposition it.14. Install support (6) above the radiator.15. Connect the right and left hand stay support tubes for the radiator to the swing frame.16. Install lower radiator hose (3). Tighten the hose clamps that hold the lower radiator hose to a torque of 5 N m (4 lb ft).17. Install the upper and lower fan guards.18. Install upper radiator hose (1). Tighten the hose clamps that hold the upper radiator hose to a torque of 5 N m (4 lb ft).19. Install the counterweight. See Remove & Install Counterweight in the Vehicle Systems Disassembly & Assembly module, Form No. SENR4597.20. After installation of the hydraulic oil cooler, fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level.
