Information:
4. Loosen clamps (3) and remove elbow (1) from the radiator.5. Remove one half of fan guard (2) from the right side of the machine. 6. Remove hose (5) and elbow (4) from the water pump and radiator. 7. Loosen the clamps that hold hose (7) in position and pull it from elbow (6).
RADIATOR REMOVED FOR PHOTO ILLUSTRATION8. Remove bolts (8), (10) and (11) that hold water pump (9) to the timing gear housing and remove water pump (9).Install Water Pump
1. Inspect the O-ring seal for the water pump. Install a new seal if needed. 2. Put water pump (2) and elbow (1) in position as a unit. Make sure the gasket for elbow (1) is in position and install the bolts to hold the elbow and water pump.3. Connect elbow (1) and the pipe together with the short hose and tighten the hose clamps. 4. Install elbow (3) and the gasket to the lower radiator tank. Connect elbow (3) to the water pump with hose (4) and tighten the clamps. 5. Install fan guard (5) on the radiator.6. Install the elbow and gasket to the top tank of the radiator. Connect hose (6) to the elbow and tighten the clamps.7. Install the side panel and hood on the machine.8. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level.Disassemble Water Pump
start by:a) remove water pump 1. Remove bolts (1) and cover (2) from the housing. 2. Loosen bolt (4) approximately .25 in. (6.35 mm). Hit the bolt with a soft hammer to remove impeller (3) from the shaft. Remove bolt (4) and impeller (3). 3. Remove spring (5) and the seal assembly from the shaft. 4. Turn the housing over and remove bolt (6) and washer (7) from the gear.5. Remove gear (9) and bearing (8) from the housing. Remove the bearing and gear assembly. The gear is held in place by two pins on the bottom. 6. Remove bearing (8) from the gear with tool (A). 7. Remove snap ring (10). Remove bearing and shaft.8. Remove bearing from shaft with tooling (B) and an arbor press. 9. Remove O-ring seal (12) and lip seal (11) and seal assembly from the housing.Assemble Water Pump
1. Install lip type seal in water pump housing with tooling (A). The lip of seal must be toward the water pump drive gear. Put clean SAE 30 oil on the lip of the seal. 2. Turn the housing over and install ring and seal (1) with tool (B). Put clean SAE 30 oil on the lip of the seal and install the ring and seal in the pump housing with the shiny face of the ring toward the impeller. The ring and seal can be installed with hand pressure. 3. Turn the housing and install O-ring seal (2) as shown. 4. Install bearing (3) on shaft (4) with tool (C) and an arbor press as shown. 5. Install bearing (3) and shaft in the water pump housing. 6. Install snap ring (5) to hold bearing (3) in place. 7. Use tooling (D) and an arbor press to install bearing (6) on gear (7). 8. Install gear (7) and bearing in the housing in the position shown. Install a bolt and washer to hold gear (7) in place. 9. Install seal (9) and spring (8) on the shaft. 10. Install impeller (10) and hold it with bolt (12) and a washer. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 28 1 lb.ft. (39 1 N m). 11. Install cover (11) on the housing with the retaining bolts.end by:a) install water pump
