Problem
Coolant may leak from between the cylinder head and the cylinder block on certain MS230(LC)-3, MS280-2, MS300-8, MS300LC-8, MS380-2, MS450-8 Excavators equipped with a Mitsubishi 6D22 Engine if the head gasket compresses and the head bolts lose torque.

Parts Disposition
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. Attach. (Rework Procedure) Rework Procedure Disassembly And Inspection 1. Remove all of the cylinder heads, the oil pan, and the piston and rod assemblies as described in the Service Manual. 2. Measure the cylinder liner projection. It must be a minimum of zero to a maximum of 0.08 mm (.003"). 3. Remove all of the cylinder liners. Make note of the liner size designation "A" "B" or "C" stamped on the top of the liner flange. 4. Make the following inspections and measurements: A) Check for erosion or fretting damage on the top deck surface. Measure the distance between the top surface of the block to the center of the crankshaft. This distance should be 412.0 +/- 0.20 mm (16.220 +/-.008"). B)
