Information:
1. The belt tightener is located behind left hand door assemblies (1) and (2). Remove left hand door assembly (1) from left hand door assembly (2). 2. Remove bolt (3), the washer, and left hand door assembly (4) from theengine enclosure.
Top of engine enclosure
Bottom of engine enclosure3. Remove four bolts (6) and the washers from engine enclosure tube assembly (5). Using two people remove left hand door assembly (2) from the engine enclosure. The weight of left hand door assembly (2) is 34 kg (75 lb).4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the remaining side. For the removal and installation of the belt tightener, the air conditioning system does not need to be evacuated. The air conditioning condenser can be removed without disconnecting the hose assemblies.5. Loosen, but do not remove two bolts (8) on each side of the air conditioning condenser (9), that hold brackets (7) to the radiator guard and support.6. Using two people, remove four bolts (10) and the washers from each side of air conditioning condenser (9). Remove air conditioning condenser (9) from the radiator. Set air conditioning condenser (9) aside as shown. 7. Remove two bolts (13) and the washers from each side of top fan guard assembly (12).8. Remove bolt (11) and the washers from each side of top fan guard assembly (12). Remove top fan guard assembly (12) from bottom fan guard assembly (14).
V-belts (16) are under tension from spring (15). If wrench slips while releasing the belt tension, personal injury may result. Be sure wrench is properly engaged with the belt tightener.
9. Using Tooling (A) release the tension on spring (15) and remove V-belts (16) from tightener arm assembly pulley (17). 10. Disconnect hose assembly (19) from tightener arm assembly (18). 11. Remove full nut (21), the washer, and spring retainer (22) from bracket assembly (20). 12. Remove bolt (24), the washer, retainer plate (23), and belt tightener (25) from the bracket assembly. The following steps are for the installation of the belt tightener.13. Make sure all components of the belt tightener are clean of dirt and foreign material prior to installation.14. Check all components for wear or damage and replace if necessary. 15. Put belt tightener (25) in position on the bracket assembly, as shown. Install retainer plate (23), bolt (24), and the washer. 16. Put spring retainer (22) in position in bracket assembly (20), as shown. Install the washer, and full nut (20). 17. Connect hose assembly (19) to tightener arm assembly (18).
