2 Disconnect engine oil filter hoses (1) from engine oil cooler (2) and engine oil filter group (3). Remove engine oil filter group (3) and the oil filter hoses. 3 Remove oil pan (4); see the Service Manual. 4 Remove oil outlet tube (5) and oil suction bell assembly (6). 5 Put clean engine oil on 5L2727 Seal (7). Put seal (7) in position on 4N9965 Tube Assembly (8). Put tube assembly (8) in position in oil pump (9) and in alignment with oil passage (10). Put an S1591 Bolt in bolt hole (11). Put clean engine oil on 5P5316 Seal (12). Put seal (12) in position on 9L6842 Tube Assembly (13). Put tube assembly (13) in position in tube assembly (8) and in alignment with oil passage (14). Put an S1591 Bolt in bolt hole (15) and an L2070 Bolt in bolt hole (16). Put bell assembly (6) in position and install an S1571 Bolt and 5M2894 Washer through the bell assembly bracket and in bolt hole (17). Use the former bolts to fasten the bell assembly in position.6 Install a 4N6340 Gasket and the oil pan; see the Service Manual. 7 To permit installation and removal of the filter assemblies on the oil filter group, adjustments must be made to dehydrator bracket (18) and to disconnect switch (19). Bend or shorten the sides of dehydrator bracket (18) to move the dehydrator nearer the frame. Cut bracket (20) even with the frame. Move bracket (20) and the disconnect switch away from the engine block approximately 51.0 (2.00"). Weld the bracket to the frame. 1 Install a 4F7952 Seal in the groove of 5H2068 Cover (1). Install cover (1) on the manifold of engine oil cooler (2) with four 4F8965 Bolts (3) and 5P8244 Washers. Put engine oil on 5L2727 Seal (4) and 9M9647 Seal (5) and install the seals on 1W4755 Adapter (6). Put the end of adapter (6) through the oil pan and into tube assembly (7). Install S1590 Bolt (8). Put engine oil on 5P5316 Seal (9) and install the seal on 2W2104 Tube Assembly (10). Install a 1P3705 Seal on the opposite end of tube assembly (10) and put the tube assembly in position. Install four S1619 Bolts (11) and 5M2894 Washers. Install 8N6739 Ring (12) on tube assembly (10). Install two 8N6740 Retainers (13), L1351 Bolts (14) and 5M2894 Washers. Install two 5L4609 Clamps (15), to hold tube assembly (10) to the torque converter oil tube assembly, with an S1571 Bolt (16), two 5M2894 Washers and 1D4717 Nut (17). 2 Remove two bolts (18) and the washers. Remove plate (19) and loosen clamps (20). Remove bolts (21) and the washers. Remove fumes disposal tubes (22). Remove two bolts (23) and the washers from the filler tube. Remove hose (A) from the engine. Pull wire harness (B) away from the engine block. 3 Remove the bolt, washer and clamp (24) that hold filler tube (25) to the bracket. Remove clip (26) and the dipstick from the filler tube. Remove filler tube (25). 4 Put clean engine oil on 9M9647 Seal (27) and install the seal on 1W4986 Elbow (28). Put elbow (28) in position in the oil pan and install S1591 Bolt (29). 5 Put 4F8386 Gasket (30) in position and fasten 1W4985 Tube Assembly (31) to elbow (28) with two 1A2029 Bolts (32) and the former washers. Remove clip (24) from the former filler tube and put it in position on tube assembly (31). Fasten clip (24) to the bracket with the former bolt and washer. Fasten the dipstick to the tube assembly with the former clamps, bolt, washer and nut. 6 Remove bracket (33) and put 1W5269 Bracket (34) in position. Install former bolt (C) and washer and S1591 Bolt (D), washer and 1U2812 Spacer. Fasten tube (E) in new position as shown. 7 Install 9M853 Plunger (35) and 4N8150 Spring (36) in 9N5311 Base Assembly (37). Put 2P3760 Gasket (38) and 2P3761 Cover (39) in position and install two S1594 Bolts (40) and 5M2894 Washers. Install 2W219 Shield (41) with five 4B4161 Drive Screws (42). Put clean engine oil on 9M7002 Seal (43) and 6L1651 Seal (44). Install seals (43) and (44) in base assembly (37). Put base assembly (37) in position, over openings where the fumes disposal and oil filler lines were connected, and install three S1594 Bolts (45) and two 8S9191 Bolts (46). Install two new 1W2660 Oil Filter Assemblies. Put the clip on wire harness (B) under one of bolts (46). 8 Remove two bolts and the washers from the oil pan and put 1W5278 Bracket Assembly (47) in position. Install two S1591 Bolts (48) and the former washers. Put former clips (49) on 1W5164 Tube (50) and 1W5165 Tube (51). Put former hoses (52) and (53) on the tubes and breathers as shown. Put tubes (50) and (51) in position and fasten two clips (49) to cover group (54) with the former bolts and washers. Fasten two clips (49) to bracket (47) with two L1351 Bolts (55) and the former washers. Tighten the clamps on hoses (52) and (53). 9 Install 7N6698 Hose Assembly (54) with the former clips as shown.Optional Method With Parts List Including 1W4756 Tube Assembly
1 For installation of a 1W4756 Tube Assembly, use the procedure that follows. Remove manifold (1) from engine oil cooler (2). 2 Install former seals (3) and (4) in 6N448 Body (5). Put body (5) in position on engine oil cooler (2) and install three S1594 Bolts (6) and one L2070 Bolt (7). Put engine oil on two 5L2727 Seals (8) and install the seals on 6N630 Tube Assembly (9). Install tube assembly (9) in body (5). Put former seal (10) in position in 6N452 Elbow (11). Put elbow (11) in position and install two L2070 Bolts (12) and two S1594 Bolts (13). Put 9M853 Plunger (14) and 4N8150 Spring (15) in
