Ensure that all adjustments and repairs that are carried out to the fuel system are performed by authorized personnel that have the correct training.Before beginning ANY work on the fuel system, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information and High Pressure Fuel Lines" for safety information. Refer to System Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Cleanliness of Fuel System Components" for detailed information on the standards of cleanliness that must be observed during ALL work on the fuel system.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Make a temporary identification mark on plastic tube assemblies in order to show the correct position of the tube assemblies.
Disconnect plastic tube assembly (3) and plastic tube assembly (6) from fuel priming pump (2).
Use Tooling (A) in order to plug the plastic tube assemblies. Use Tooling (A) in order to cap the connections for plastic tube assemblies on the fuel priming pump.
Disconnect Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM) wiring harness assembly (1) from fuel priming pump (2).
Remove bolts (4) from bracket (5). Note: Support the bracket as the bolts are removed.
Remove fuel priming pump (3) and bracket (5) as an assembly from the cylinder block.

If necessary, follow Step 9.a through Step 9.d in order to remove fuel priming pump (2) from bracket (5).
Remove allen head screws (7) from fuel priming pump (2).
Remove fuel priming pump (2) from bracket (5).
Remove O-ring seal (8).
If necessary, remove connection (10) from bracket (5). Remove O-ring seal (9) from connection (10). Installation Procedure

Ensure that the fuel priming pump is clean and free from wear and damage. If necessary, replace the fuel priming pump.

If necessary, follow Step 2.a through Step 2.d in order to install fuel priming pump (2) from bracket (5).
If necessary, install a new O-ring seal (9) to connection (10). Install connection (10) to bracket (5). Tighten the connection to a torque of 20 N m (177 lb in).
Install a new O-ring seal (8) to fuel priming pump (2).
Position fuel priming pump (2) onto bracket (5). Note: Ensure that the fuel priming pump is correctly located onto the bracket.
Install new allen head screws (7). Tighten the allen head screws to a torque of 9 N m (80 lb in).

Position fuel priming pump (3) and bracket (5) as an assembly onto the cylinder block.
Install bolt (4) to bracket (5). Tighten the bolt to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in).
Remove plugs from plastic tube assembly (3) and plastic tube assembly (5). Remove cap from connections on fuel priming pump (2).
Connect plastic tube assembly (3) and plastic tube assembly (5) to fuel priming pump (2).
Connect (OEM) wiring harness assembly (1) to fuel priming pump (2).
Turn the fuel supply to the ON position.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
Prime the fuel system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime"for the correct procedure.
