Information:
2. Disconnect the governor control rod (3) from the governor.3. Remove bolt (4) in the turbocharger oil supply line (1). Loosen two bolts on the turbocharger oil supply line found on top of the turbocharger. Disconnect bottom end of line (1).4. Remove two bolts (5) from support.5. Disconnect fuel injection lines (2) at the fuel injection pump. Put caps on all openings. 6. Remove the fuel injection pump housing and governor as a unit.Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor As A Unit (Compact Fuel System)
1. Find top center (TC) compression stroke for No. 1 piston. See LOCATING TOP CENTER NO. 1 PISTON in TESTING and ADJUSTING. 2. Install tool (A) on the rear face of the accessory drive housing. If the plate can be installed with the dowels in the accessory drive housing in alignment with the dowel holes in tool (A), the accessory drive housing is in correct time. Do Step 6. If tool (A) can not be installed, continue with Step 3. 3. Loosen mounting bolt and belt tension adjustment bolt and push the alternator toward the engine to loosen the belts. Remove the small access cover (1) on the timing gear cover. Remove nut (3) and washer (2) from the timing gear shaft. 4. Make a separation of the gear from the accessory drive shaft with tooling (B). Turn the accessory drive shaft until tool (A) can be installed.5. Install washer (2) with the outside diameter next to the gear and nut (3) on drive shaft. Tighten nut to a torque of 100 10 lb.ft. (135 14 N m). Install cover (1). Install alternator belts.6. Remove tool (A). Put the fuel injection pump housing and governor in position on the engine. Install and tighten all mounting bolts. Connect turbocharger line. Tighten at both ends.7. Remove caps and plugs from fuel lines and openings. Install fuel injection lines. Tighten fuel injection lines and nuts to a torque of 30 5 lb.ft. (40.7 6.8 N m).8. Connect governor control rod and install engine side guards.Separation Of Governor From Fuel Injection Pump Housing (Compact Fuel System)
start by: a) remove fuel injection pump housing and governor as a unit 1. Remove the cover (1).2. Remove the screw (2) for the rack stop collar.3. Remove rack stop collar (3).4. Remove the bolts (4) that hold the governor to fuel injection pump housing. 5. Remove the governor housing (5).6. Remove the governor spring and seat assembly from the guide in the housing (5).7. Remove the washer type spring (6) from bolt.8. Remove the three bolts (7) and lock that hold the cylinder and weight assemblies (8) to fuel injection pump housing.9. Pull the cylinder and weight assemblies straight out until they are free of dowels. 10. Slide the cylinder and weight assemblies to the side to free the piston from the rack (9).Connection Of Governor To Fuel Injection Pump Housing (Compact Fuel System)
1. Put the cylinder and weight assemblies (1) in position on the fuel injection pump housing so the piston (2) is in the correct location on the rack (3).2. Push the cylinder and weight assemblies on to the location dowels. 3. Install the three bolts (4) and lock.4. Install the washer type spring (5) on bolt (6).5. Put the seat assembly and governor spring on guide in governor housing. The washer type spring (5) must be installed so the inside diameter of the spring will be against the guide in the governor housing (7).6. Put the governor housing (7) in position on the fuel injection pump housing and install the bolts. 7. Install the rack stop collar (8) on bolt (6).8. Put the idle screw cover (10) in position on the governor housing so the dowel (11) in the housing is engaged with groove (slot) (12) in the rack stop collar.9. Install the bolts that fasten the idle screw cover to the governor housing.end by: a) install fuel injection pump housing and governor as a unitb) make an adjustment to the rack and governor (see FUEL RACK SETTING AND GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENTS IN TESTING AND ADJUSTING)
