A 463-3380 Lift As 1 Note: This procedure is intended for the Installation of the bottom guards in a shop environment. The underneath conditions must be solid, flat, smooth, and unobstructed. Fully read this procedure and fully understand this procedure before proceeding with the work.Note: Use caution around potential pinch points. Be alert for possible movement of the guards.Note: Inspect the Tooling for proper condition and proper operation.Note: Do not place any part of your body under the bottom guard unless the mounting hardware is installed or the Tooling is in the proper location and giving proper support to the guard.

Illustration 2 g06218555Note: Inspect both halves of the hinges. Make sure that both halves of the hinges are properly attached to the bottom guard and the tractor frame. If any cracks are observed on the hinges or the hinge welds, make suitable repairs prior to raising the bottom guard.
The weight of the rear guard assembly (12) is approximately 270 kg (594 lb). If equipped with a ground speed radar, use Tooling (A) to position rear guard assembly (12) at a safe, useful height. Position sensor (15) and install bolts (14) and cable straps (13). Raise rear guard assembly (12) fully into the proper position.
Install the four washers and four nuts (11). Install hinge pins (10). Install the washers onto hinge pins (10) on the same side as the cotter pins. Install the cotter pins.

The weight of rear center guard assembly (9) is approximately 285 kg (627 lb). Use Tooling (A) to position rear center guard assembly (9). Install the washers and four nuts (8). Install two hinge pins (7). Install the washers onto hinge pins (7) on the same side as the cotter pins. Install the cotter pins.

The weight of front center guard assembly (6) is approximately 278 kg (612 lb). Use Tooling (A) and position front center guard assembly (6). Install the washers and four nuts (5). Install two hinge pins (4). Install the washers onto hinge pins (4) on the same side as the cotter pins. Install the cotter pins.

There is one nut (1) on the right-hand side of the tractor and one nut (1) on the left-hand side of the tractor. Install the washers and ten bolts (2). Install two hinge pins. Install the washers onto the two hinge pins on the same side as the cotter pins. Install the cotter pins.
