Turn latch (1) in order to unlock hood (2) .

Raise hood (2) and install strut (3) in order to hold the hood in the raised position.
Remove countersunk bolts (4) (not shown), locknuts (5) and the washers.
With the assistance of a second person, disconnect strut (3) from hood (2) and remove the hood from the machine. The weight of the hood is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).Door

In order to remove door (1), either the hood must be opened or the hood must be removed. In order to open the hood, perform the following actions. Unlock the latch that secures the hood and raise the hood. Install the strut that holds the hood in the raised position. To remove the hood, refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Engine Enclosure - Remove and Install".
Turn latch (2) in order to unlock door (1) .

Open door (1) fully and use a suitable floor jack to support the weight of the door. Refer to Illustration 4.
Remove bolts (3), the locknuts,and the washers. For the purpose of installation, make a note of the position of the different bolts, the position of the locknuts and the position of the washers.
Remove door (1) from the machine.Grill
Raise the boom and install the boom cylinder lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, " Boom Cylinder Lock - Removal and Installation Procedures".

In order to remove grill (3), either the hood must be opened or the hood must be removed. In order to open the hood, perform the following actions. Unlock the latch that secures the hood and raise the hood. Install the strut that holds the hood in the raised position. To remove the hood, refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Engine Enclosure - Remove and Install".
Remove bolts (2) and the washers in order to remove bar (1) .
Remove bolts (4) and the washers in order to remove grill (3) from the machine.Installation Procedure
Hood
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

With the assistance of a second person, position hood (2) in the raised position onto the machine. The weight of the hood is approximately 25 kg (55 lb). Install strut (3) in order to support the hood and hold the hood in the raised position during the installation procedure.
Install countersunk bolts (4) (not shown), locknuts (5) and the washers in order to secure hood (2) to the machine. Remove the strut and stow the strut in the correct position. Lower the hood.

Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install bolts (3), the locknuts,and the washers in order to secure door (1) to the machine. Use the note that was made during the removal procedure in order to identify the correct position of the different bolts, locknuts and washers.

Close door (1). Turn latch (2) in order to secure the door in place.
During the removal procedure, either the hood was raised or the hood was removed. If the hood was raised, perform the following actions. Remove the strut that holds the hood in the raised position. Stow the strut correctly. Lower the hood and use the latch to secure the hood in place. If the hood was removed, install the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Engine Enclosure - Remove and Install".Grill
