2. Loosen clamp (2). Disconnect hose (1) from air inlet hose (3).3. Loosen two clamps (4). Remove air inlet hose (3) from the turbocharger and the air box of the air cleaner group. 4. Remove two nuts (6) and the washers. Remove bolt (5), the washer and nut. Remove the nut, washer and bolt (7). Remove heat shield plate assembly (8). 5. Remove clamp (10). Separate exhaust pipe assembly (9) from turbine housing (11) of the turbocharger. 6. Oil will drain from oil supply tube assembly (13) and oil drain tube assembly (18) when they are disconnected from the turbocharger. Place a drain pan under the turbocharger to contain the drain oil.7. Remove the two bolts and the washers that hold oil supply tube assembly (13) to the turbocharger.8. Remove the two bolts and the washers that hold oil drain tube assembly (18) to the turbocharger.9. Loosen two clamps (15). Slide hose (14) off of compressor cover (17) of the turbocharger.10. Remove four locknuts (12) and the washers that hold turbocharger (16) to the exhaust manifold. Remove the turbocharger and gasket from the exhaust manifold.11. Remove the gasket used between oil supply tube assembly (13) and the turbocharger. Remove the gasket used between oil drain tube assembly (18) and the turbocharger.12. Mark the position of turbine housing (11) and compressor cover (17) in relation to the cartridge for the turbocharger.13. Remove the four bolts and two clamp plates that hold turbine housing (11) to the cartridge. Remove the turbine housing.14. Remove the six bolts and three clamp plates that hold compressor cover (17) to the cartridge. Remove the compressor housing. The following steps are for the installation of the turbocharger.15. Put compressor cover (17) in its original position on the cartridge. Install the three clamp plates and six bolts that hold it. Tighten the six bolts to a torque of 7.3 0.5 N m (65 5 lb in).16. Put turbine housing (11) in its original position on the cartridge. Install the two clamp plates and four bolts that hold it. Tighten the four bolts to a torque of 15.8 0.5 N m (140 5 lb in). 17. Check the condition of the gasket used between the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold. If the gasket is damaged, use a new part for replacement.18. Make sure the mounting surface of the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold is thoroughly clean. Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the washer faces and the mounting studs for the turbocharger. Put the gasket and turbocharger (16) in position on the exhaust manifold. Install the four washers and locknuts (12) that hold the turbocharger in position. Tighten the four locknuts to a torque of 54 5 N m (40 4 lb ft).19. Check the condition of the gasket used between oil supply tube assembly (13) and the turbocharger. Check the condition of the gasket used between oil drain tube assembly (18) and the turbocharger. If the gaskets are damaged, use new parts for replacement.20. Install the gasket, and connect oil drain tube assembly (18) to the turbocharger. Install the gasket, and connect oil supply tube assembly (13) to the turbocharger.21. Connect hose (14) to the compressor cover of the turbocharger with two clamps (15). 22. Connect exhaust pipe assembly (9) to the turbine housing of the turbocharger with clamp (10). 23. Put heat shield plate assembly (8) in position over the turbocharger. Install bolt (7), the washer and nut. Install the nut, washer and bolt (5). Install the two washers and nuts (6). 24. Install air inlet hose (3). Install two clamps (4) that hold the air inlet hose to the turbocharger and the air box for the air cleaner group.25. Connect hose (1) to air inlet hose (3) with clamp (2).
