Information:


Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Thoroughly clean the area around a fuel system component that will be disconnected. Fit a suitable cover over disconnected fuel system component.
Turn the fuel supply valve to the OFF position before performing this maintenance. Place a tray under the fuel filter in order to catch any fuel that might spill. Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.
Close the fuel supply valve.
Clean the outside of the fuel filter assembly.

Hold the bottom cover (6) of the filter assembly. Remove bolt (1) from the center of the element.
Lower the bottom cover (6) .
Remove the fuel filter element (4) and dispose of the element properly.
Clean the inside surfaces of the fuel filter base. Clean the bottom cover (6) .
Install new seals (2) and (5). Install new O-ring (3). Lubricate the seals and the O-ring with clean diesel fuel.
Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.
Insert bottom cover (6) onto new element (4). Ensure that the element is installed properly to the bottom cover (6). Place the element (4) to the fuel filter base. Install the bolt (1) .
Prime the fuel system. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System-Prime" for more information.Turbocharged Engines

Loosen drain (4) and drain the fuel into a suitable container.
Hold fuel filter element (3). At the same time, rotate the quick release collar (2) to the left.
Pull the fuel filter element (3) straight down in order to remove the element. Dispose of the element properly.
Clean the inside surfaces of the fuel filter base.
Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.
Push the new fuel filter element (3) into the fuel filter base (1). Rotate the quick release collar (2) to the right in order to fasten the element to the fuel filter base (1). Ensure that drain (4) is closed.
Prime the fuel system. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System-Prime" for more information.
