Information:
Illustration 1 g06033637This troubleshooting guide focuses on Engine State and Alarms for the Marine Engine Control Panel II (MECP II) and Marine Genset Control Panel II (MGCPII).The following sections outline the general troubleshooting information for the MECP/MGCP II.Status Bar
Illustration 2 g06033666The status bar is at the top of the DCU display screen. The status bar displays engine state (1), alarm status (2), and icons (3).Engine States (1)
The following is a list of the engine state texts that appear in the status bar.Ready - Ready to start.Starting Denied - A shutdown event is active, refer to the alarm list.Start Disabled - Something is preventing start (such as the start disabled switch or a "Ready to Start" condition such as "Starting Air Pressure is Low").Shutdown Stopping - A shutdown event has occurred and the engine is stopping.Shutdown Stopped - A shutdown event has occurred and the engine has stopped.Initial Start Delay - The DCU is verifying that all starting conditions are satisfied.Prelube Manual - The DCU has received a start command from the local operator or the remote panel (RP). The DCU is prelubing the engine.Prelube Automatic - The DCU has received an automatic start command (from the PMS or switch gear). The DCU is prelubing the engine.Cranking Manual - The DCU has received a start command from the local operator or the RP. The DCU is starting the engine.Cranking Automatic - The DCU has received an automatic start command (from the PMS or switch gear). The DCU is starting the engine.Running - The engine is running normally.Safety Running - The DCU has no speed information, but the last known state of the engine was "Running" and the DCU has not received a stop command.Delayed Stop - The engine has received an automatic stop command and is waiting for the "Automatic Stop Delay" to expire. The "Automatic Stop Delay" allows the PMS or switch gear to disconnect breakers.Cooling - The engine is cooling down.Normal Stopping - The engine is stopping normally.Safety Stopping - The DCU has no speed information, but the last known state of the engine was "Running" and the DCU has received a stop command. It will remain in "Safety Stopping" mode until the "Safety Stopping Timer" has elapsed.Stopped - The engine has stopped normally.Alarm Status (2)
The following alarm statuses are displayed in the status bar:Red, flashing - Shutdown or alarm in alarm list, unacknowledgedRed, steady - Shutdown or alarm in alarm listYellow, flashing - Warning or alarm in alarm list, unacknowledgedYellow, steady - Warning in alarm listWhite, flashing - Diagnostics in alarm list, unacknowledgedWhite, steady - Diagnostics in alarm listDark - No issuesAlarm Mode Icons (3)
