Remove the crankcase guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankcase Guard - Remove and Install".
Remove the cab. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Cab - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".
Drain the torque converter and transmission oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Converter and Transmission Oil - Change".
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

Loosen clamps (1) in order to disconnect tube (2) from hose (3). Loosen clamps (4) in order to disconnect tube (5) from hose (6). Disconnect clamp (7) from tube (2) .

Remove bolt (8) in order to remove clamp (9) from tube (2). Remove bolt (10) in order to remove clamp (11) from tube (5) .

Remove bolts (26) in order to disconnect hose assembly (27) from gear pump (28). Remove bolts (29) in order to disconnect hose assembly (30) from gear pump (28) .

Disconnect hose assembly (31) from gear pump (32). Disconnect hose assembly (33) from hydraulic tank (34). Position hose assemblies (31) and (33) to the side.
