Table 1
Diagnostic Codes Table
Description Conditions which Generate this Code System Response
41-3 8 Volt DC Supply : Voltage Above Normal The digital sensor supply voltage is above normal for two seconds. The code is logged.
All sensors are set to default values.
41-4 8 Volt DC Supply : Voltage Below Normal The digital sensor supply voltage is below normal for two seconds.
100-10 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor : Abnormal Rate of Change The signal voltage from the filtered oil pressure changes less than the specification during a specific duration of time. The code is logged.
Events for the low oil pressure and filter restriction are disabled.
The value for the filtered oil pressure is set to the value for the unfiltered oil pressure. If diagnostics are active for the unfiltered oil pressure, the default value is used.
262-3 5 Volt Sensor DC Power Supply : Voltage Above Normal The analog sensor supply voltage is above normal for two seconds. The code is logged.
All sensors are set to default values.
262-4 5 Volt Sensor DC Power Supply : Voltage Below Normal The analog sensor supply voltage is below normal for two seconds.
542-10 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor - Before Oil Filter : Abnormal Rate of Change The ECM detects a value for the unfiltered oil pressure that is between 530 kPa (77 psi) and 662 kPa (96 psi). The pressure changes less than 2.2 kPa (0.3 psi) in 30 seconds. The value of the parameter will be set to 600 kPa (87 psi).
1785-10 Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor : Abnormal Rate of Change The ECM detects a value for the unfiltered oil pressure that is between 410 kPa (59 psi) and 520 kPa (75 psi). The pressure changes less than 1.68 kPa (0.2 psi) in 30 seconds.
The engine speed must be greater than 1000 rpm in order for this code to be set. The code is logged.
The value of the parameter will be set to 320 kPa (46 psi).
The current to the wastegate solenoid will be shut off while this code is active. This will cause the wastegate to operate in order to protect the turbocharger from an overspeed condition.
2131-3 5 Volt Sensor DC Power Supply #2 : Voltage Above Normal The analog sensor supply voltage is above normal for two seconds. The code is logged.
All sensors are set to default values.
2131-4 5 Volt Sensor DC Power Supply #2 : Voltage Below Normal The analog sensor supply voltage is below normal for two seconds. System OperationThe Electronic Control Module (ECM) supplies a regulated voltage of 5.0 0.2 VDC to the following sensors:
Atmospheric pressure sensor
Crankcase pressure sensor
Intake manifold pressure sensor
Coolant pressure sensor for the inlet of the engine block
Coolant pressure sensor for the outlet of the engine block
Filtered oil pressure sensor
Unfiltered oil pressure sensor
Differential pressure sensor for the primary fuel filters
Pressure sensor for the primary fuel filters (filtered)
Fuel transfer pressure sensor (filtered)
Fuel transfer pressure sensor (unfiltered)
Fuel rail pressure sensor
Pressure sensor for the water pump outlet for the SCAC
Turbocharger compressor inlet pressure sensor (No. 1 (left side))
Turbocharger compressor inlet pressure sensor (No. 2 (right side))The ECM supplies a regulated voltage of 8.0 0.4 VDC to the following sensors:
Sensor for the left turbocharger turbine inlet temperature
Sensor for the right turbocharger turbine inlet temperatureThe supply voltage for the sensors is routed from the ECM to terminal 1 of each sensor connector. The sensor return for the sensors is routed from the ECM to terminal 2 of each sensor connector. The ECM provides short circuit protection for the internal power supply. A short circuit to the battery will not damage the internal power supply. If a -10 code is logged, this indicates that the 5 volt supply is not available at the sensor connector. During normal engine operation, each of the signals from the pressure sensors fluctuate slightly. When the 5 volt supply becomes unavailable at the pressure sensor connector, the signal from that sensor floats to a midrange value. The signal will not fluctuate. If the signal from the sensor remains abnormally steady for more than 30 seconds, the ECM will activate this code.Note: The sensors are not protected from overvoltage. A short from the supply line to the +Battery may damage the sensors. If the diagnostic code 41-3 or the diagnostic code 262-3 is logged, it is possible that all of the sensors have been damaged. Repair the sensor supply and check for any active sensor diagnostic codes in order to determine if a sensor has failed.

Test Step 1. Inspect the Electrical Connectors and the Wiring
Remove the electrical power from the ECM.
