1 - 8 NC 1 Note: This procedure is intended for the removal of the bottom guards in a shop environment. The underneath conditions must be solid, flat, smooth, and unobstructed. Fully read this procedure and fully understand this procedure before proceeding with the work.Note: Use caution around potential pinch points. Be alert for possible movement of the guards.Note: Inspect the Tooling for proper condition and proper operation.Note: Do not place any part of your body under the bottom guard unless the mounting hardware is installed. Make sure that the Tooling is in the proper location and giving proper support to the guard before the mounting hardware is loosened.Note: Bottom guards may contain a significant amount of rock, dirt, liquids, and debris, which will result in significant extra weight.

The weight of front guard assembly (3) is approximately 343 kg (755 lb). Position Tooling (A) under front guard assembly (3). Remove two hinge pins. Remove ten bolts (2). Loosen but do not remove nuts (1) at this time. There is one nut (1) on the right-hand side of the tractor and one nut (1) on the left-hand side of the tractor. If necessary, use Tooling (B) to pry front guard assembly (3) loose from the tractor main frame. There is a threaded hole that is provided on the non-hinged side of the bottom guard. Ensure that there are no people under front guard assembly (3). Remove nuts (1). Use Tooling (A) to lower front guard assembly (3).

The weight of front center guard assembly (6) is approximately 278 kg (612 lb). Position Tooling (A) under front center guard assembly (6). Remove two hinge pins (4). Loosen four nuts (5) but do not remove nuts (5) at this time. If necessary, use Tooling (B) to pry front center guard assembly (6) loose from the tractor main frame. There is a threaded hole that is provided on the non-hinged side of the bottom guard. Ensure that there are no people under front center guard assembly (6). Remove nuts (5). Use Tooling (A) to lower front center guard assembly (6).

The weight of rear center guard assembly (9) is approximately 285 kg (627 lb). Position Tooling (A) under rear center guard assembly (9). Remove two hinge pins (7). Loosen four nuts (8) but do not remove nuts (8) at this time. If necessary, use Tooling (B) to pry rear center guard assembly (9) loose from the tractor main frame. There is a threaded hole that is provided on the non-hinged side of the bottom guard. Ensure that there are no people under rear center guard assembly (9). Remove nuts (8). Use Tooling (A) to remove rear center guard assembly (9).

The weight of rear guard assembly (12) is approximately 270 kg (594 lb). Position Tooling (A) under rear guard assembly (12). Remove two hinge pins (10). Loosen four nuts (11) but do not remove nuts (11) at this time. If necessary, use Tooling (B) to pry rear guard assembly (12) loose from the tractor main frame. There is a threaded hole that is provided on the non-hinged side of the rear guard. Ensure that there are no people under rear guard assembly (12). Remove nuts (11). If the machine is equipped with a ground speed radar, use Tooling (A) to lower the rear guard gently to a safe, useful height. Do not lower the rear guard all the way to the ground. Keep the rear guard off the ground to prevent damage to the harness that is attached to the top of the bottom guard. Cut any cable straps (13) to free the electrical harness. Remove the four bolts (14) that fasten sensor assembly (15) to the rear guard. Lower guard assembly (12) completely with Tooling (A).
