In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 45% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.
ACTION REQUIRED
1.Order a replacement emission label for the machine.
a. Go to http://tmiweb.cat.com to order the label.
b. Select the ?Engine/Parts Data? under the ?TMI Web? menu.
c. Select ?Serial Number? from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
d. Type the serial number into the window that is labeled ?Reference Number? and then select "Serial Number" from the ?Reference Description? drop down menu.
e. Click ?Retrieve Data?.
f. Click on the ?Emissions Data? link that is located on the top menu.
g. Select the ?Need emission replacement label- Click here!? link at the bottom of the form.
h. A new page will open. Complete all of the information to request a new label. If necessary, create an account to request a replacement label.
i. The label should arrive in about two weeks.
2. Check the engine for the location of the emission label. There may be more than one label installed on the engine.
3. Use a heat gun to heat the entire label. Hold the heat gun 3-4 inches away from the label.
4. Lift one corner of the label to start removal.
5. The label should be able to be removed once the heat has been applied. The label will become difficult to remove as it cools.
6. After the label has been removed, check the area for any excess glue or dirt. Clean the area before applying the new label.
If there are other labels, repeat the process.
7. Flash the software that is listed in the Parts Needed Table or the latest released software in SIS on the Engine ECM
8. After flashing the software, perform an ON, OFF, ON key cycle on the machine.
9. Operate the machine before returning to service.
