Information:
2. Remove four bolts (3). 3. Position hoist, remove four bolts (4) and remove radiator. Weight of radiator is 200 kg (440 lbs.). The following steps are for installation of the radiator.4. Fasten a hoist to the radiator. Position the radiator and install four bolts (4).5. Install side guards (2) to the radiator.6. Position rubber spacers and steel straps and install bolts (1).End By: a. tilt radiator guard backDisassemble Radiator
Start By: remove radiator1. Install 1/2" - 13 NC eyebolt and hoist. Remove ten bolts and six nuts on the backside, and remove top tank. Tank weight is 27.2 kg (60 lbs.). 2. Remove two bolts that hold radiator core to tie straps, (one on each side). Loosen the other bolts holding the straps and move the straps out of the way. Remove the radiator core.
Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping Freon-12 (C C12 F2 Dichloro Difluoro Methane) can cause freezing of human flesh. Do not smoke while working on air conditioning systems. Inhaling Freon-12 through any smoking material, although not toxic or flammable, can generate phosgene gas and cause violent illness. Also, heat must never be applied to a charged system. See Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual, Form No. SENR7454, for more information on removal and installation of lines and refrigerant from the system.
3. If equipped with air conditioning, disconnect hose, and remove core.4. Remove seal (1) from each end of the radiator cores and/or the air conditioning cores. Assemble Radiator
1. Make sure the radiator cores and the holes in the bottom tank are clean and free of dirt and foreign material.2. Lightly, lubricate the inside diameter of the seals and the sealing surface of the seals, the bottom tank and the radiator cores with liquid soap. There are two different seals used in the installation of the radiator cores. The distance between the locating projections of each end of the radiator and air conditioning cores is different. Install the correct seal on each end of the cores. 3. Install the correct seals (1) on radiator cores (2).4. Put radiator cores (2) in position on the bottom tank with locating projections (4) aligned with locating holes (3) in the bottom tank.5. If air conditioning core was removed, connect hoses. Install tie straps and bolts. 6. Lubricate seals and locating projections. Install top tank and ten bolts (1) and six nuts, but do not tighten. Remove 1/2" - 13 NC eyebolts.7. Adjust the trash gap (clearance between the edges of the core assemblies) on the grille side (front) of the radiator assembly as follows: a. Adjust the cores by hand until dimension (A) is 6.51 1.5 mm (.26 .06 in.). Adjust the center core first; then work toward the channels on each side of the radiator assembly.b. Tighten bolts (5) that fasten front tie strap (6) to a torque of 44 4 N m (32 3 lb. ft.).8. Adjust the fan side gap (clearance between the edges of the core assemblies) on the engine side (back) of the radiator assembly as follows: a. Adjust the cores by hand until there is approximately 1 1 mm (.04 .04 in.) between the edges. Adjust the center cores first, then work toward the channels on each side of the radiator assembly.b. Tighten the bolts that hold the rear tie straps to a torque of 44 4 N m (32 3 lb. ft.).9. Tighten the eight bolts holding the top tank is place on the side channels that were installed in Step 6.End By: a. install radiator.
