Status Indicators Of The Controller (1) Status Indicators (2) ControllerThere are three status indicators. Each indicator is a different color. The colors of the indicators are in the following list: red, yellow and green. The indicator may be flashing or the indicator may be continuously illuminated. Different combinations of the conditions indicate the status of the controller.Green Indicator
When the disconnect switch and the keyswitch are in the ON position, the green indicator should be ON. If the green indicator is not ON, check the fuse for the controller and the power wiring to the controller. When positive 24 VDC is applied to the controller, the green indicator should be ON. The DC voltage is applied to connector 1 at contact 1. The ground is applied to contact 2.The Green Indicator and the Yellow Indicators
The green indicator is ON when power is applied to the controller. The yellow indicator is ON when there is a problem of communication between the controller and the monitor. If the yellow indicator is ON, check the wiring harness for the data link between the controller and the monitor for the following conditions:
Open Circuits
Shorts to Ground
Shorts to the BatteryThe Green Indicator and the Red Indicator
The condition indicates that the controller has an internal fault. Replace the controller. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Controller - Replace".The Green Indicator, Yellow Indicator, and the Red Indicator
The condition indicates that the controller has an internal fault. Replace the controller. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Controller - Replace".No Power to Monitor
Verify that all of the harness connectors are properly connected. Check the fuse for the monitor. Check the wiring harness for broken wires or wires that are shorted to ground. The Monitor is Blank or the Monitor Does Not Respond
Verify that all of the harness connectors are properly connected. Check the fuse for the monitor. Check the wiring harness for broken wires or wires that are shorted to ground. Check the data link for open circuits and/or short circuits. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Communication Problem Between Controller and Monitor - Troubleshoot".Switch Circuits
The controller is unable to identify the system errors in the switch circuits. No error codes are available to assist the troubleshooting procedure. When a switch circuit does not appear to be working correctly, there may be a fault in the circuitry. Service Code 16 is Digital Input. This function is used to assist troubleshooting the circuitry. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Using Service Mode".Fuel Level Sensor
CHECK THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FOR OPERATION.This test verifies the operation of the fuel level sensor.
Turn the disconnect switch and the keyswitch to the ON position.
Observe the fuel level gauge.
Disconnect the fuel level sensor from the machine harness.
At the machine harness connector for the fuel level sensor, place a jumper wire from contact 1 to contact 2.Expected Result: The level of the fuel gauge should not change. Results:Note: The correct resistance of the fuel level sensor is 5 to 90 Ohms.
OK - The fuel gauge level does NOT change. The fuel level sensor is correct. Proceed to 2.
NOT OK - The fuel gauge level shows full. The fuel level sensor is faulty. Replace the fuel level sensor. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Fuel Level Sensor - Replace".
CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR AT THE CONTROLLER.This test verifies the wiring harness for the fuel level sensor.
Ground contact 29 of connector 2.
Observe the fuel level gauge.Expected Result: The level of the fuel gauge should not change. Results:
OK - The fuel gauge level shows full. The harness wiring is faulty. The machine harness from the fuel level sensor to ground has an open circuit and/or the machine harness from the fuel level sensor to the controller has an open circuit.
NOT OK - The fuel gauge level does NOT change. The monitor and/or the controller is faulty. Replace the monitor and/or the controller. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Controller - Replace".
