Introduction

Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin.
Remove the existing engine oil filter and the stud from the filter base. Discard the filter and the stud.

Apply 154-9731 Sealant on stud (1) to length (L). Length (L) is equivalent to 15 1.5 mm (0.6 0.06 inch). Install the stud into existing filter base (A) and tighten the stud to a torque of 68 7 N m (50 5 lb ft).
Install the 5P-8066 Seal onto the stud.
Install the 8H-7521 Seal onto adapter (15). Install the adapter over the stud and onto filter base (A). Use nut (3) in order to secure the adapter. Tighten the nut to a torque of 149 20 N m (110 15 lb ft).
Install connector (22) with seal (24) into the side port of the adapter.
Install elbow (29) with seal (12) into the bottom port of the adapter.

Replace the existing air cleaner bracket with bracket assembly (9) .

Use bolts (27) and washers (26) in order to assemble base (6) onto the new air cleaner bracket.
Install plug (32) with seal (13) into the top port of base (6) .
Use bolts (20), bolts (21), and washers (30) in order to install base assembly (4) with the 5F-9657 Seals onto base (6) .
Install plug (31) with seal (14) into base (6) .
Install elbow (29) with seal (12) into the center port of base assembly (6) .
Install connector (28) with seal (14) into the remaining port. Install elbow (23) with seal (17) into connector (28) .

Install spring (5) into valve (2). Install this assembly into the side port of base assembly (4) .
Install plug (19) with seal (11) into the port.
