Introduction
This Special Instruction provides the information that is needed for installing the vented access door for the engine compartment. Overheating of the engine can occur during machine operations when the machine is equipped with a machine enclosure seal kit. The various seals, covers, and brushes that are used in the machine enclosure seal kits for blocking the entry of debris also reduce ventilation of the engine compartment. The vented access door that is provided in the 312-1024 Engine Enclosure Kit (VENTED) provides improved ventilation inside the engine compartment.Read the information and understand the information that is contained in this instruction before you begin installation.Parts Information

Disconnect the components and remove the components from the current engine access door per Step 1.a through Step 1.f. See Illustration 2.
Remove all of the cable straps that secure harness (D) to the engine access door. Unplug rear work lights (C) and (K) from harness (D). Then, remove rear work lights (C) and (K) from the engine access door. Retain the two rear work lights for reinstallation on the new engine access door.

Remove the hydraulic filter and lines (F) from the engine access door by removing the four bolts (L) and the four hard washers (M). See Illustration 3.Retain the four bolts and the four hard washers for reinstallation of the hydraulic filter on the new engine access door.Note: Do not disconnect the hoses and do not disconnect the electrical connector from the unit.
