Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Place a suitable container below engine oil filter base (4) to catch any oil that might be spilled.
Use a suitable tool to remove cap (1) from engine oil filter base (4).
Remove filter element (2) (not shown) and O-ring seal (3) (not shown). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct procedure.

Disconnect tube nut (6) and remove tube assembly (5) away from engine oil filter base (4).
Remove O-ring seal (7) (not shown).
Remove bolts (10) and bolt (8). Support engine oil filter base (4) as the bolts are removed.
Remove engine oil filter base (4) from the cylinder block.
Remove seal (9) (not shown).

If necessary, follow Step 9a through Step 9c to remove plug (13) and connection (11) from engine oil filter base (4).
Place engine oil filter base (4) in a suitable support.
Remove plug (13) from engine oil filter base (4). Remove O-ring seal (14).
Remove adapter (11) from engine oil filter base (4). Remove O-ring seal (12).Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that all components are free from wear or damage. If necessary, replace any component that is worn or damaged.

If necessary, follow Step 9a through Step 9b to install plug (13) and connection (11) to engine oil filter base (4).
Place engine oil filter base (4) in a suitable support.
Install a new O-ring seal (14) to plug (13). Install the plug to engine oil filter base (4). Tighten the plug to a torque of 12 N m (106 lb in).
Install a new O-ring seal (12) to adapter (11). Install the adapter to engine oil filter base (4). Tighten the adapter to a torque of 24 N m (212 lb in).

Install a new seal (9) (not shown) to engine oil filter base (4). Ensure that the seal is correctly seated into the recess of the engine oil filter base.
Install engine oil filter base (4) onto the cylinder block. Install bolts (10) and bolt (8). Support the engine oil filter base as the bolts are installed.
Tighten bolts (10) and bolt (8) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in).
Install a new O-ring seal (7) (not shown) to the adapter. Ensure that the O-ring seal is correctly seated into the recess of the adapter.
Install tube assembly (5) onto the adapter. Ensure that O-ring seal (7) (not shown) is not dislodged. Connect tube nut (6) hand tight.
Tighten tube nut (6) to a torque of 45 N m (33 lb ft). Use a suitable tool to hold the adapter as the tube nut is tightened.

Install a new filter element (2) (not shown) to engine oil filter base (4). Install a new O-ring seal (3) (not shown) to cap (1). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct procedure.
Use a suitable tool to tighten cap (1) to a torque of 24 N m (212 lb in).Note: Ensure cap (1) is fully seated on to engine oil filter base (4).
Check the level of the engine oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil Level - Check" for the correct procedure.
