Personal injury or death can result from the engine starting.The engine can start and injure persons working on or near the engine.Be sure the engine cannot be started while service work is being performed. This is very important when the engine is equipped with an Automatic Start Stop System.On engines equipped with an air starting system, close the air supply valve to the air starting motor before service work is begun.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Disconnect the fuel supply before you loosen any fuel lines. Note: Check the seals for wear or damage. Replace the seal, if necessary. Lubricate the seal with glycerin before installation.

Remove two bolts (2).
Remove two bolts (1) and remove the clip.

Disconnect the fuel lines (4).
Disconnect all wiring harness connections (12) at the sensors.
Disconnect three lines (11) near the air starting motors.
Remove the bolts and remove the clips (5).
Lower the wiring harness (12) in order to access the fuel lines.
Remove the bolts (7) (not shown).
Remove the bolts (3).
Remove the fuel line (6).
Remove the fuel line (9).
Remove the bolts (13) that hold the fuel line (10) to the elbow (8).
Remove the bolts that hold the fuel line (10).
Remove the fuel line (10). Note: The removal of the right side fuel lines is similar to the removal of the left hand fuel lines that are described in this procedure.Installation Procedure
