Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Illustration 1 g03343543Note: The position of fuel screw (17) controls the emissions of the engine. Ensure correct adjustment of the fuel screw. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Governor - Adjust" for the correct procedure.
If the original housing has been replaced with a new housing, follow Step 1.a through Step 1.e in order to install fuel screw (17).
Install fuel screw (17) to housing (3).
Install a new sealing washer (18) to fuel screw (17).
Loosely install locknut (19) to fuel screw (17). The procedure that is used to set the position of the fuel screw is described in Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Governor - Adjust" for the correct procedure.
Do not install the tamper proof cap (20) until fuel screw (17) adjustment has been completed.
Install a new emissions label to front housing (3).

Place lever assembly (12) in position in front housing (3) and install shaft (11). Note: Ensure the correct orientation of the lever assembly.
Install a new sealing washer (14) to the treads of shaft (11).
Install nut (15). Tighten the nut to a torque of 6 N m (53 lb in).
Connect spring (13) to front housing (3).
Install a new silicon rubber bung (16).

If the engine is equipped with an angleich unit, follow Steps 7.a and 7.b in order to install the angleich unit.
Apply Tooling (B) to the first two threads of angleich unit (10).
Install angleich unit (10) to lever assembly (7). Tighten the angleich unit to a torque of 6 N m (53 lb in). Note: Ensure that Tooling (B) is not allowed to contaminate the plunger assembly of the angleich unit. Contamination of the plunger assembly will render the angleich unit inoperative.

Install a new sealing washer (8) to shaft (9).
Apply Tooling (A) to the first two threads of shaft (9).
Place lever assembly (7) in position in front housing (3) and install shaft (9). Tighten the shaft to a torque of 16 N m (142 lb in). Note: Ensure the correct orientation of the lever assembly.

Position a new gasket (6) (not shown) onto throttle control (1).
Position the assembly of throttle control (1) into front housing (3).
Install bolts (5). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in).

Install spring (4).
If the position of the fuel screw has been altered, the fuel screw must be reset. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Governor - Adjust" for the correct procedure.
Install the front housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Housing (Front) Install" for the correct procedure.
After fuel screw (17) has been adjusted, to the procedure in Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Governor - Adjust". Install a new tamper proof cap (20) to nut (19). Refer to Illustration 1.
