Ensure that all adjustments and repairs that are carried out to the fuel system are performed by authorized personnel that have the correct training.Before beginning ANY work on the fuel system, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information and High Pressure Fuel Lines" for safety information.Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting Manual, "Cleanliness of Fuel System Components" for detailed information on the standards of cleanliness that must be observed during ALL work on the fuel system.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Place identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on wires and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and tube assemblies. Plugging helps to prevent fluid loss and stops contaminants from entering the system.Note: Some engines do not have a fuel supply to the electronic control module.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
If the electronic control module is equipped with a fuel supply, turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.

Cut cable strap (6) in order to allow repositioning of wiring harness (1).
Unscrew bolt (5) and bolt (13) that secures engine harness (3) to electronic control module (10). Disconnect the engine harness from the electronic control module.
Unscrew bolt (7) and (12) that secures machine wiring harness (8) to electronic control module (10). Disconnect the machine wiring harness from the electronic control module.
If the electronic control module is equipped with a fuel supply, disconnect plastic tube assembly (2) and plastic tube assembly (9). Use Tooling (A) in order to plug or cap all open ports. Note: If the tube assemblies have quick fit connections, ensure that the connections are clean before the tube assemblies are plugged.

Remove bolts (14) and remove washers (15). Remove the electronic control module (10) from mounting bracket (11). Note the position of the ground strap for the electronic control module. Note the orientation of the electronic control module.
If necessary, follow Step 8.a through Step 2 in order to disassemble the electronic control module.
Remove isolation mounts (16) and spacers (17).
Remove connectors (18). Remove O-ring seals (19) from the connectors. Installation Procedure

If a replacement electronic control module is installed, the module must be programmed with the correct information. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Replacing the ECM" and refer to Troubleshooting, "Flash Programming" for the correct procedure.
Ensure that the electronic control module is clean and free from damage. If necessary, replace the electronic control module.

If necessary, follow Step 3.a through Step 3.b in order to assemble the electronic control module.
Install new O-ring seals (19) to connectors (18). Install connectors (18) to electronic control module (10). Tighten the connectors to a torque of 18.5 N m (13.6 lb ft).
Install isolation mounts (16) and spacers (17) to electronic control module (10).
Install washers (15) and bolts (14) to electronic control module (10). Ensure that the ground strap for the electronic control module is clamped between the washer and the appropriate bolt. The earth strap center line must be at an angle between 45 degrees and 80 degrees from the horizontal, refer to 5.
Install the assembly of the electronic control module to mounting bracket (11). Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft). Note: Ensure that the electronic control module is correctly oriented. Ensure that the ground strap is not strained as the bolt is tightened.
If the electronic control module is equipped with a fuel supply, connect plastic tube assembly (2) and tube assembly (9) to the electronic control module. Note: If the tube assemblies have quick fit connections, ensure that the connections are clean before the tube assemblies are connected.
Connect machine wiring harness (8) to electronic control module (10). Use Tooling (B) to tighten bolt (7) to a torque of 6.5 N m (57.53 lb in).Use Tooling (B) to tighten bolt (12) to a
