Remove the engine oil filler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filler - Remove and Install".Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Recover the air conditioner refrigerant from the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NEDG5065, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.

Remove fitting assembly (1). Disconnect hose assembly (2). Remove tube assembly (3) .
Remove fuel filter (4). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System Primary Filter - Clean/Inspect/Replace" for the correct procedure. Remove bolt (5) .

Disconnect hose assemblies (6), (8), and (12). Disconnect hose assembly (9). Remove tube assembly (7) .
Loosen bolt (11) and position bracket (10) out of the way.

Remove nuts (14) and bolts (16). Remove bracket (13). Disconnect tube assembly (15) .
Attach a suitable lifting device to compressor (18). Remove bolts (17) and remove compressor (18). The weight of compressor (18) is approximately 30 kg (65 lb).Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Attach a suitable lifting device to compressor (18). Install compressor (18) and install bolts (17). The weight of compressor (18) is approximately 30 kg (65 lb).

Connect tube assembly (15). Install bracket (13). Install bolts (16) and nuts (14).

Install tube assembly (7). Connect hose assembly (9). Connect hose assemblies (6), (8), and (12) .
Position bracket (10) to the original location. Tighten bolt (11) .
