1. Remove the alternator V-belts from pulley (1). Refer to topic "Remove Alternator" in this module for further information.2. Remove four bolts (3) and pulley assembly (1) from the drive shaft.3. Remove four bolts (2). Use two 1/2 in.- 13 NC forcing screws to remove cover assembly (4) from the rear of the front drive housing. 4. Remove six bolts (5) and accessory drive (6) from the front drive housing.Install Accessory Drive (Front)
1. Make sure the O-ring seals are in position on accessory drive (6). Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean engine oil.2. Install accessory drive (6) in the front drive housing. Make sure the gear teeth of accessory drive (6) are engaged correctly with the teeth of the gear in the front housing. Install six bolts (5). 3. Make sure the two O-ring seals are installed on cover assembly (4). Lubricate the O-ring seals, lip seal and bearings of cover assembly (4) with clean engine oil. Install cover assembly (4) and four bolts (2). 4. Put pulley (1) in position. Install four bolts (3).5. Install the alternator V-belts on the pulley. Start By:a. remove accessory drive (front) 1. Remove O-ring seals (2) and (3) from adapter assembly (1). 2. Remove seal (4) from adapter assembly (1). Use a press and Tooling (A) to remove sleeve bearing (5) from adapter assembly (1). 3. Remove bolts (7) that hold gear (8) to shaft (6). Remove gear (8) from shaft (6). 4. Remove bolts (9) and the retainer washers to remove shaft (6) from cover assembly (10). 5. Remove O-ring seals (12) and (13) from cover assembly (10).6. Use a press and Tooling (A) to remove sleeve bearing (11) from cover assembly (10).Assemble Accessory Drive (Front)
1. Align the oil hole in the sleeve bearing and the oil hole in cover assembly (1). Use a press and Tooling (A) and install the sleeve bearing in cover assembly (1). Check the bore in the sleeve bearing after assembly. The bore in the bearing must be 75 0.055 mm (3 .0022 in.).2. Install the two O-ring seals in cover assembly (1). 3. Put clean engine oil on the sleeve bearing, and install shaft (3) in cover assembly (1). Install retainer washers (2) to hold the shaft and adapter together. 4. Put gear (4) in position on shaft (3), and install the bolts. 5. Align the oil hole in the sleeve bearing and the oil hole in adapter assembly (5). Use a press and Tooling (A), install the sleeve bearing in adapter assembly (5). Check the bore in the sleeve bearing after assembly. The bore in the sleeve bearing must be 75 0.055 mm (3 .0022 in.).6. Use Tooling (A) to install the seal in adapter (5). Make sure the lip of the seal is toward the bearing as shown. 7. Install O-ring seals (6) and (7) on adapter (5), and put clean engine oil on them.End By:a. install accessory drive (front)
