1. Put the fuel injection pump housing in position on tool (A). 2. Install timing pin (1) in the groove (slot) in the injection pump camshaft so the camshaft will not turn.
Make sure the pin that holds the shaft for the flyweights is in correct position on the back of the flyweight assembly.
3. Put the flyweight assembly in position on the camshaft and install new bolts (2). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 120 24 lb.in. (13.6 2.8 N m). The bolts for the flyweight assembly have a locking material on the threads and must not be used more than one time. 4. Put the cover in position over the flyweight assembly. Install the cover in the fuel injection pump housing with tool (B). 5. Grind a taper on the bottom edge of a 1/8" screwdriver (3). Install the screwdriver through the hole in the housing as shown. The screwdriver must fit evenly against the flyweight assembly cover. Make a mark (stake) in four places around the cover directly over the groove in the camshaft.
Never install a used flyweight assembly cover that is bent.
6. Put riser (follower) (4) in position between the flyweights. Lift the flyweight up with a piece of wire or a small screwdriver and push the follower forward. 7. Put lever (6) in position on the dowel and install ring (5) to hold the lever in place.8. Inspect the O-ring seal on shaft (8). Install a new seal if needed. Put clean fuel on the seal. 9. Put lever (9) in position in the groove in the follower and the ball end in the sleeve shaft lever. Install shaft (8) to hold the lever in place. Push the shaft into position in the housing but use care not to cause damage to the O-ring seal.
If lever (9) is not installed correctly, the governor can not operate and can cause the engine to overspeed.
10. Remove timing pin (7). 11. Install pin (11) in the housing with the round end of the pin down.12. Put stop bar (10) in position on the housing and install the bolt and nut that holds the stop bar in place.
The bolt or stud for the stop bar must not go beyond the inner surface of the housing.
13. Install the over fueling spring and seal (12) on the shaft. 14. Install cover (13) over the stop bar after the adjustment for the fuel system has been made.15. Install the guide, (wave) washer and spring (14) in the governor housing.16. Install a new gasket for the governor housing if needed. Put the governor housing in position on the pump housing and install the bolts that hold the governor housing in place.end by:a) adjustment of fuel system setting (See FUEL SYSTEM SETTING in TESTING AND ADJUSTING)b) install fuel injection pump housing and governor
