Introduction
This Special Instruction contains a procedure for removing the main fuse and two cables from the 836G Landfill Compactor. The fuse and cables are replaced with a single cable.Note: The fuse and these cables will exist on the machine only if the procedure that is described in Special Instruction, REHS2541, "Procedure to Improve the Routing of the Starting Motor and Alternator Wires" has been performed on the machine.Note: Your machine will not exactly match the illustrations that are in this publication. Some hoses have been removed from the illustrations for clarity. Some hose and some tubes on the machine may have routings that differ from the routings that are shown in the illustrations. The illustrations are intended only to show the routing and mounting of the new cable.Do not perform any procedure in this publication or order any parts until you understand the information that is contained in this publication.Safety
Accidental engine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the equipment. To avoid accidental engine starting, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (−) battery terminal. Completely tape all metal surfaces of the disconnected battery cable end in order to prevent contact with other metal surfaces which could activate the engine electrical system.Place a Do Not Operate tag at the Start/Stop switch location to inform personnel that the equipment is being worked on.
