Problem
New turbochargers can be installed on certain 785 Trucks and 3512 Engines (Spare) to improve performance/response, lower smoke levels, and reduce exhaust gas temperatures. These turbochargers also include the improvements to the compressor wheel and bearing housing that were implemented in the July 31, 1988 Service Letter - PS4174.

Action Required
Replace each of the existing turbochargers with a 0R6156 Turbocharger, the new gaskets, and seals. Adjust the smoke limiter to the proper setting.

Parts Disposition
Any parts removed (with the exception of cores used for Caterpillar Remanufactured parts) can be rendered useless and scrapped immediately upon completion of the repair.
