Information:
Start By:a. remove hood1. Open the engine panels on both sides of the machine. Remove the lower access panels below the left and right engine panels.
At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
2. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly loosening the filler cap on the radiator. Drain the coolant from the radiator.
Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping Freon -12 (CCI2F2 - Dichlorodifluoromethane) can cause freezing of human flesh. Do not smoke while working on air conditioning systems. INHALING R-12 THROUGH ANY SMOKING MATERIAL, ALTHOUGH NOT TOXIC OR FLAMMABLE CAN GENERATE LETHAL PHOSPHENE GAS AND CAUSE VIOLENT ILLNESS OR DEATH. ALSO, HEAT MUST NEVER BE APPLIED TO A CHARGED SYSTEM. See Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual, Form No. SENR3334-01, for more information on removal and installation of lines and refrigerant from the system.
3. Purge the air conditioning system. Refer to the topic "Purging the System" in the Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual, form SENR3334-01, for this information. 4. Open grill assembly (1) to gain access to the hydraulic oil cooler and the air conditioner condenser.5. Remove two bolts (2) from hydraulic oil cooler (3).
Do not disconnect the hoses to hydraulic oil cooler (3). Hydraulic oil cooler (3) and the hoses can be set aside, clear of radiator. The hydraulic tank must first be drained if the hoses to hydraulic oil cooler (3) are disconnected.
6. Position hydraulic oil cooler (3) away from radiator (4) to gain access to bolts (5).7. Support hydraulic oil cooler (3). Remove the nuts and two bolts (5). Set the hoses and hydraulic oil cooler (3) aside.8. Disconnect tubes (6) from two air conditioner condensers (7). 9. Remove the bolts from the hose support clamps and brackets at the base of radiator (4). 10. Loosen the hose clamps on upper and lower radiator hose (9).11. Remove upper radiator hose (9) from radiator (4), and rotate tube (10) so that it is clear of radiator (4).12. Remove bolts (11) holding upper and lower fan guards (8) together.13. Remove bolts (12) and upper and lower fan guards (8).14. Remove the bolts and four panels (13). 15. Loosen the clamps on hoses (15) and (17). Remove hose (15), tube (16) and hose (17) as a unit.16. Remove the two bolts from bracket (14), and set bracket (14) aside. 17. Use tooling (A) to attach a hoist to radiator (4) as shown. Remove two bolts (18) from each corner of the fan side of radiator (4).18. Remove radiator (4). The weight of the radiator is 52 kg (115) lb).19. Install the radiator in the reverse order of removal.20. Fill the radiator with coolant to the proper level. Refer to the Operation & Maintenance manual for further information.21. Charge the air conditioner. Refer to The Heating And Air Conditioning service manual, Form No. SENR3334-01, for further information.End By:a. install hood
